This week we are checking out the adverb detrás (deh-trahs’) which means behind. Some examples of detrás used in a sentence are:
1. Adelante iba el coche fúnebre, y detrás los otros coches que iban camino del cementerio.
The hearse went ahead, and behind the rest of the cars on the way to the cemetery.
2. Mi madre brincó sobre una silla y dijo que un ratón había corrido detrás de la nevera.
My mother jumped on a chair and said a mouse had run behind the refrigerator.
This week try to use it at least once in a sentence. Just slip it in somewhere and show how smart you are.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Thank you for bringing this back! I love trying to learn a new language, even if it’s just a few words here and there. Plus I can try to use it with my daughter since she takes Spanish in school.

This is so helpful just to remind me to study my Spanish. I only had Latin in high school, which helped with my nursing education, but you can’t speak it. Especially needed in LA, where I live in a very ethnic neighborhood, so thanks!

I really need to learn Spanish it would be helpful for my job.
