Strategies For Proactively Dealing With Stress

Mar 29, 2018 | Rita

Stress is always scary, and it will impact everyone at some point in their lives. However, it’s how you deal with the pressure and anxiety that’ll ensure you lead a good quality life, and one free from boundaries and upset.

What you need are strategies for proactively managing your stress and not letting it get too out of control. When you feel it coming on is the perfect time to use the following techniques to help you better manage your tension. Stress is nothing to mess around with so never act too proud to step back and take a break when you need it.

Reach out & get the Help you Require

Your stress could stem from a number of different reasons and causes. For example, someone in your family may have passed away recently or maybe you’ve been in a car accident. Know that if you’ve been in an auto accident, you should find a lawyer right away who will represent you in the matter. Another idea is to reach out to friends, family members or a professional therapist and talk through what difficult circumstances you’re going through at the time and see if they can offer up some helpful advice.

Exercise Daily & Eat Right

How you treat your body and what you put in it makes a difference in how you feel and your ability to manage your stress appropriately. Deal with stress better by exercising daily to release negative emotions and eating nutritious meals that make you feel good and lift your mood. Not taking care of yourself is only going to make your situation and the stress you’re feeling worse. Working out and cooking meals at home are two proactive approaches to dealing with your worries.

Get more Sleep & try Relaxation Techniques

Sleep is very important when you’re feeling down and out of sorts. Your mind and body need time to rejuvenate and relax after you’ve been walking around high strung and dealing with racing thoughts. Also, try relaxation techniques like drinking warm tea slowly, meditating or writing in a journal. You’ll find you have a clear head after you’re well rested and have dealt with your emotions in a healthy manner.

Manage your Time Better

Saying yes to every event and activity is only going to add extra pressure to your days. What you need is to make more time for you and relaxing. Proactively deal with stress by managing a calendar and not overbooking yourself. Try coming home after work instead of going out and using your weekends to catch up on sleep versus running yourself ragged trying to complete a bunch of projects. Time management is one skill that will bring you a lot of peace and happiness in your life.

Conclusion

Stress will always exist, but it’s your job to keep it in check and not let your concerns spiral out of control. Implement these strategies to your days and you may find that you feel a lot calmer. Finally, don’t be afraid to speak up and ask for a shoulder to lean on when you need it.

Lots of good advice in here. Talking to someone is my go-to remedy, and also taking stress tabs really helps, I find.

If you're looking for a Bible that helps you under If you're looking for a Bible that helps you understand your identity in Christ and God’s purpose for your life, the *Life in Christ Bible* is a must-have! 🙏📖 As someone who's recently been diving deeper into Bible study, I’ve found this Bible incredibly insightful and inspiring.

✨ One of my favorite parts is how it emphasizes that our value comes from who we are in God’s eyes, not from what we do. Each book begins with a helpful intro—key details like date, main idea, and a timeline outline make everything easy to follow.

❤️ Plus, the words of Jesus are written in red, and I love the "I Am" sidebars with extra insights and cross-references for deeper study.

And can we talk about the quotes from Charles Spurgeon and the historical charts?! 🙌 They really help put the New Testament into a broader context. Oh, and the maps at the back are a visual treat for anyone who, like me, loves seeing the geographical routes and locations come to life.

This Bible has been a game-changer for my spiritual growth, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to deepen their faith. 💙

I am not normally a coffee drinker at all but when I am not normally a coffee drinker at all but when I do it is always hot coffee. I rarely, if ever, drink iced coffee. There is just something about it that rubs me the wrong way.
