I was given the chance to read Strong and Kind and then share my thoughts with you all. I love books that really get me to thinking and this one is perfect for any parent. Not to mention there is an awesome giveaway!

I admit I was intrigued by this book because it is written by Korie Robertson who is the wife of CEO Willie Robertson from Duck Dynasty. I have only ever seen that show once with my nephew but he adores it and I was curious as to what a mother of five on top of being in the spotlight and religious had to say. I can only imagine the struggles she faces with her children while being in the spotlight. My older kids have issues with me blogging their more embarrassing moments.

Strong and Kind is actually broken down into three part: Good Character, Character Traits and Parent Kinds of Characters. I like that because it makes reading and rereading things a little easier for me. I like to be able to go back to my favorite parts and this really helped. Korie offers wonderful advice and shares many of her own experiences. I also really appreciate that even though there are religious undertones in the book they are not in my face. Since we are Catholic my own religion means a lot to me and I love that Korie didn’t make me feel as though my own beleifs were less than hers.
