One of the worst things about being a diabetic is that I have to carry around an assortment of supplies. Not that they are horrible but the bag they go in is ugly and fairly standard. When I am in public and have to pull them out I won’t bother to tell you the looks I get sometimes. I have checked my blood sugar in the bathroom of restaurants before so I don’t get stares. When I pull out that ugly, obviously medical bag people begin to wonder. Then they realize it’s a meter and they look for the shots or whatever else you are going to do. Sugar Medical gives me the bag I need but in a stylish way I want.
I didn’t realize there were so many different bags on the market. I thought I had to use the bag my meter came in. I know that I could have put it in any sort of bag but let me tell you that once you lose a piece of your supplies because it fell out of a bag or you have to take everything out in order to use your stuff you don’t switch bags.
After all the bag my meter came in functions for me. It is small and I couldn’t put my insulin pen in there which upset me a little. I just worked around it. As you see in the picture I could keep stuff in it but it wasn’t very organized.
Sugar Medical sent me the Universal Supply Case- Cora and the first thing you will notice is how pretty it is. This is a bag that I can put in my purse and pull out without any notice. It looks as if I am pulling out my cosmetics bag. There is a nice big pocket on the outside where I can slip appointment cards or other notes.
When you open the bag as you can see there is plenty of room for your stuff. However, I love that there is so much organization. Everything has a place and it is all right at the tip of your fingers when you need it. I don’t have to take my meter out. I can use it right where it is.
The reason is the little velcro sticker that I placed on the back (it is included in your bag) and there just placed the meter on the strip. Now my finger prick pen is too small for the middle but the charger for my meter fits perfectly. My insulin pen will also fit in here. I still had to go to the drug store to pick up my refills when I did these pictures.
There is also a strap that allows to carry your bag if you want and the clasp is not only of those flimsy ones that will break easily. All in all this is a great bag and I am so thrilled to have it.
