Sun Protection and Style with Kspin Designs {Review}

Aug 13, 2012 | Rita

Kspin Designs

It is rare that you find a company that offers both style and sun protection but I have done just that. I don’t mean sun protection in the sense of sunscreen either but a some very unique ways of protecting your children from the sun. Add to that the style that is more than just couture but off the charts stylish! Kspin Designs Children’s Boutique helps to accomplish both of those with their unique clothing and sun protection. I am able to dress my children in style and help protect their precious skin at the same time.

Without exception every KSpin Designs garment is made by hand with precision here in the United States either by Kerry Lynn herself, or one of KSpin Designs expert seamstresses. As a successful businesswoman at the height of her modeling career, 27 year old Kerry Lynn was diagnosed with Melanoma. Ultimately she was successful in beating it, but the experience left her forever changed.

Kerry Lynn created KSpin with a dual purpose in mind; the second purpose being to educate children on the importance of protecting themselves from the disease. The frustrating dichotomy of skin cancer is that although it’s one of the most destructive forms of the affliction, it’s also one of the easiest to prevent. Early prevention education is paramount in helping children avoid it, and could easily save their lives.

Kspin Designs Dress Front

I was sent this very stylish dress from the Little Miss collection to review and I will tell you that I love it! It is simply one of  the most beautiful dresses I have seen. The style is simple yet so very elegant at the same time. The detail is exquisite as you can see from the photo. The flower made from lace is so adorable and I love th e bottom.

Kspin Designs Dress Back

As you can see the back is just as beautiful as the front. I can easily see this little dress paired with some tights and a little shirt underneath for a fall look.  The dress washed really well, although I did wash it on delicate and line dried it. The fabric is very soft and does not irritate the skin in any way.

Sun Protection

Along with the dress came this assortment of sun protection items. They included a sun safety bracelet that your child wears and then it changes colors if they have been exposed to too much sun. It is a wonderful idea and all proceeds from the sale of the sun protection items go to PrettyPale.org the Skin Cancer and Melanoma Awareness organization created by  Kerry Lynn .

Kspin Designs has so many items that I know you will love including custom couture! If you want to dress your children in clothing with a unique style from a company who is on the fore-front of the battle against skin cancer with their unique sun protection items then this is the place for you!

    Rita, I was thinking they probably had a wonderful hat collection for kids, and although not a lot on hand, they didn’t disappoint! This outfit is just PRECIOUS! Would be perfect for my 10 month old grand daughter for next year…a bit pricey but for handmade adorable…not!

    I see they have the sun safety bracelets in teen and adult sizing too. What a brilliant idea! Just the thought of wearing the bracelet as a reminder to us to be careful AND to especially start conversation when people ask what it is that you are wearing, is such a great idea! We have skin cancer in our family, my mom, several aunts and uncles and now a brother. My brother in law died of it after he got it at age 15. They thought they had removed it all from his face and came back full force after marriage, at age 23. (Skin cancer often comes back as other types of cancer…his became enmeshed in his bones. He died at age 24 with an infant and 2 1/2 year old. People always think it happens to OLD people…just ask my sister. It does not…:(
