This year Sunkist was back with their “Take a Stand”Lemonade Stand giveaway. In fact they were so wonderful to provide us with a lemonade stand, although I must say that out here in the country the only people buying was us! That’s okay though because it was all for a worthy cause.
Sunkist is encouraging kids to give to charity trough lemonade stands all across the country. The idea is that children run a lemonade stand and then take the money they earn and donate that money to charity. It is a wonderful way to teach children about the importance of helping others. Not to mention a great homeschool lesson, business lesson, and money management lesson all rolled into one.
The kids had the best time and managed to get the family to buy a good $40 in lemonade although I am pretty sure they taking advantage of us! I mean $3.00 a cup is a bit much for anyone to pay but they had a good reason, you should have seen their faces as they talked everyone into at least one cup.
Take a Stand!
Not sure where to start? Well head over to the Sunkist website where you can find information on how to build a lemonade stand, recipes for some good tasting lemonade, and picking a charity among other things. Also check out their Facebook page.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

What a fantastic idea! It’s definitely something the kids would enjoy doing, while sneaking in so many lessons.

That is really awesome. Their are a lot of kids in the neighborhood that have lemonade stands. I will have to tell them abut Sunkist Take a Stand and what they are all about!

What a fun idea, my son is only 3. I’m not sure he is quite ready for this yet but when he gets older I will have to do this with him.

We used to sell kook-aid when I was little and it was such a blast from what memories I still retain! I think having a lemonade stand is something that every kid should experience at least once. Such fun and a learning experience too!

I love this idea! This is a wonderful program! There website has a ton of great information on it. What I found really amazing was that “Since its inception, the Take A Stand program has raised an estimated $3 million for charity by kids, one glass of fresh-squeezed Sunkist® lemonade at a time.”
That is so great! Thanks for passing this on. I am going to see if I can get my daughter and her friends to do one before it gets to cold.
