I shared this recipe with y’all back in 2017. I thought I would re-share it since it is one of the few that I did not update or share again with you last year. This is still a favorite although she will use ciabatta bread if she gets the chance. She said it makes the whole sandwich classier. I don’t know about all of that but it sure does make it taste good.
My sister-in-law makes these sandwiches and while I am not sure where she came up with them, they are great. We call them gourmet sandwiches and they are everything you want in an easy summer dish. Easy to make, filling, and look pretty too. They are pretty much whatever sort of meats and cheeses you want to eat on your favorite bread.

You also need some plain cream cheese. Putting it together is simple. Spread the cream cheese on each slice of bread. Top with cheese (if your cheese is a large slice you can fold in half like a triangle and use one half on each slice.
Now put it in a toaster oven or under your broiler until the cheese starts to bubble. This takes roughly 5 minutes. Top with your meat and you are ready for a great sandwich. I only put cheese on one slice of my bread and then put meat on the other slice. Pop both of those under the broiler and I have a wonderfully hot sandwich that didn’t take me long to make. Like I said you can add anything on top of the cream cheese that you wish to. Top it with a tomato if you wish or even pickles.
Ingredients
- 2 slices Bread Any Kind you want
- 4 tbsp Cream Cheese
- 1-2 slices Cheese
- 1-2 slices Ham
- 1-2 slices Turkey
Instructions
- Spread cream cheese on both slices of bread. Top with creamToast in toaster oven for 10 minutes or in regular oven on broil for 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Be sure to watch it.Add meats and any other ingredients you wish to add.
Recipe Notes
You can use any type of bread, cheeses, ham, etc that you want. We switch this up often depending on what we are in the mood for.
Be careful with flavored cream cheeses. The fruity ones don’t come out as well as the savory ones do.
