Tasty Tuesday: My Favorite Bowls

Apr 25, 2017 | Rita

I don’t know about all of you but I love food and everything to do with food including all the gadgets in the kitchen. Welcome to another week of Tasty Tuesday where you will find anything from a recipe to tips on washing dishes! Just kidding cause, I hate to wash dishes and will get out of it if I possibly can and do most nights!

Of all the items in my kitchen there is nothing I love more than my bowls. I have a set of very cheap, very plain bowls that I use for prep and serving. There is nothing fancy about them at all. What they are is functional. They get the job done and get it done well. The largest is a little heavy when I lift it out of the cabinet but the medium and small size aren’t heavy at all. I use the largest for my big mixing jobs like cakes or breads. The smaller one is great for mixing up icing or even serving gravy. I am a firm believer that everyone needs a great set of bowls. I told you mine were cheap and I will be honest and tell you I paid like $15 for them at the dollar store.

They aren’t a name brand, they don’t go in the oven or anything like that. They are dishwasher safe. A little tip though, if you are using them as serving bowls, run a little hot water in the bowl before you put your hot food in it. That way the glass has been heated and you are less likely to have it explode from the temperature changes. I had that happen once.

Good tip about running hot water in them – I had a bowl explode once too 🙂
