That’s right! The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) Movie is heading this way and if you are like me you are no stranger to them. I grew up with them and my brother loved them especially the fact that they only ate pizza. He loved that idea growing up. Now my children will have a chance to enjoy these guys in the new movie that hits theaters and in REAL3D on August 8th.
My children find it funny that I already know all of the TMNT’s names but that is okay, it just means that I am hip! Actually I am really excited about this movie because I think the themes in the movie are wonderful. I love that the turtles are simply trying to be accepted and part of this world. I think it is something that is something that is going to resonate with my children and many other bicultural children. They are different but not in their hearts.
I also love the family theme and that just because they are a different sort of family (they were raised by a rat after all) doesn’t make them any less of a family. They pull together and stand by one another when times get tough. That is a very important lesson and one that many movies try to get across to kids but I think they fail many times. With TMNT the kids can have fun, laugh, enjoy a great movie, and maybe come away with something a little more. Maybe a little more respect for our family and the world we live in. Maybe I will even take them out for pizza before the movie so they can have the full experience!
As I said the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Movie hits theaters on August 8th and you can check them out on Facebook and Twitter as well. Not to mention check out the trailer for the movie below if you haven’t already seen it (if the video doesn’t play click here.) I know that your kids are going to love this movie and would make a great family outing! In fact even hubby will love this movie! Megan Fox is in it and if your hubby is like most guys I know they would a documentary with her in it. No offense meant! I think she is a good actress and that she really adds to the movie.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I grew up watching and playing with the teenage mutant ninja turtles. I miss the old way they made them look, I don’t like the new looks of the turtles, it seem like the did this with a lot of cartoons/shows I watched as a kid, the characters don’t look the same. But I am still a fan and going to see this movie.

I am certain that my son would love this movie. Do they even have a TV show any more? He has never watched them before.

I’m not sure how well Micheal Bay will pull this off. Loved these as a child. We shall see though. I will be seeing it in theaters. 😀
