When you homeschool your children you spend a lot of time searching for products that will help you and work well for your children. Tests have been a issue for us because the kids don’t always like how I give them and other issues. That is why I was so thrilled with TestingMom.com. If you are not familiar with the site it is a membership website that “gives parents the tools, content and support they need to make sure their child is prepared for all of life’s tests!”
We spend some time reviewing the site and I must tell you that I LOVE it! The State and Core Practice tests are the best and I love that soon you will be able to create your own tests. The State tests are the ones the you take to see if you go to the next grade level. They are all the same for each student in that grade and they are timed. You remember those days of sitting in school with everyone quiet and the timer going.
Each test of course with an answer key so you can check their answers. Not to mention there are Daily Email Questions that help you access your child. That is so important when you are homeschooling. It is very easy to fall into the “my child can do anything” trap when you are both parent and teacher. Having these questions daily can remind you that you need to step back and view your child honestly.
I also love that there is a My Notes section where I can write notes and deal with things that come up. For instance Victoria may need to do some remedial math and review before she ready and having these notes on hand when I am on the site helps makes things easy for me.

Of course the State tests are only one part of the tests available on TestingMom.com. They even have a store where you can purchase books and tools.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

While my wife and I do not yet have kids, we have talked about homeschooling our children. The main concern we’ve had is making sure they stay social. There are other concerns that we’re unaware of; such as finding programs that help them to progress in their learning. Thank you for sharing this, as it’s nice to know that there are options and you don’t have to rely on your own understanding or going through books the entire time.
