Thanksgiving is this Thursday and I don’t know about y’all but this gal is ready for it. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year and actually the one that I am the most busy on. Why, you ask? Because it is the one that I don’t do a lot of prep for. With Christmas I can get all the presents pre-wrapped and that just leaves the food. With Thanksgiving we have to get up super early and get everything ready that day.
I am hoping to get ahead of the game a little by taking a quick vacation, like two days. After today I will NOT be online for the next two days. I am not checking emails or anything. I will be back super early on Friday and rest assured I will be answering emails and posting up storm after that. I hope that you all understand my need to take a couple of days off.
I thought about taking Friday as well but there is actually a big post on that day and there may even be a giveaway or two that I will be sharing with y’all. My plan for tomorrow is to sleep late! Then I have to get the housed cleaned and I am going to try to get some of the dinner for Thursday done early if I can. At least get the desserts done and ready. Not to mention most of the prep work.
That is one ting about being the cook, I can prep (when I can) and not have to wait for someone else to bring anything. I love when others bring food but I love knowing I have all of this ready too. This year it is going to be a small affair with the kids and , Ma and my uncle, and a few other people. In years past we have had thirty or more people. I want peace and quiet for this year.
I want to take the time now to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and hope that your day is as peaceful (and full of turkey) as ours will be. Well, lets keep our fingers crossed for that.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

The kids are grown and far away so for the first year in many I am not getting up super early. I miss it already!

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with your family! Ours was a quiet evening, because we went to my sister in law’s house this afternoon for a big lunch. I love quiet evenings at home.

I hope your little vacation and your Thanksgivng was nice. I always have wanted to go to the beach for Thanksgiving and Christmas but it is hard for all of my children to get off at work and I won’t leave a celebrate without them. But a little mini vacation before hand might be nice!
