Apr 15, 2015 | Rita

The Adventures of Pajama Girl

book review disclosure
You all know how much we love reading children’s books around here and The Adventures of Pajama Girl and the Coronation of the Cupcake Queen is one of those that has become the favorite around our house. It is one of the MUST have books every time we leave the house.

About the Book

A cute, illustrated story about a girl’s imagination and her magical pajamas. In this adventure, Ellie’s cupcake pajamas pave the way for she and her Sis to take a journey to a land filled with all kinds of sweet treats. Their journey quickly turns into an adventure to help the Cupcake Queen find the missing sprinkles needed for her coronation ceremony. In searching for the missing sprinkles, Ellie and Sis uncover a life lesson that is important for every child to learn.

About the Author

Sandra Hagee Parker lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband, Ryan, and their daughters, Olivia and Elliana — the original pajama girls. A practicing attorney, Sandy is also a part of the music ministry at Cornerstone Church where she and her husband are leaders.

When not working or writing, Sandy enjoys traveling with her family and mastering the art of making Pancakes à la Pajama Girl with her two girls.

My Thoughts

The girls both really loved The Adventures of Pajama Girl and the Coronation of the Cupcake Queen. It is a big picture book which means it is great for Maggie since she can’t read yet but Victoria can read the story to her which makes for a little bit of sister time. The illustrations are simply stunning and they really help tell the story.  This book is like Candyland come to life, at least that is what the book remind me of. I big Candyland adventure. For the girls it is simply a magical place full of adventure and they both make faces at me if I mention Candyland at all.

This sounds so cute! My daughter actually has a “Lucky” pair of pajamas! She thinks whenever she wears them she will get a snow day! So if there is the slightest chance that there is snow and she can get out of school for the day she always wears them. I need to pick up this book for her. Lol

My youngest would love this book. She’s all about cupcakes and sprinkles and any sort of sweets, really. I like that the characters are engaged in imaginative play.

I love kid’s books with great pictures. My kids are too big now but I have a niece that is just the right age for this book. I may add this to my shopping list for next Christmas for her.
