I am loving The Bible series! Is anyone else watching it? Every Sunday night we are all glued to our television and even though you know the stories and what is going to happen I have found myself on the edge of my seat at times. I have even cried during some scenes, like when Samson dies and his mother is there. It was heartbreaking. If you have not watched this series at all then you truly are missing something spectacular. It will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on April 2nd so be on the lookout!

The Bible series’ executive producers, Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, were joined by some of their celebrity friends, including Kristin Chenoweth, Montel Williams and Ariana Huffington, to celebrate the opening of “The Bible Experience” in New York. The Bible Experience is an exquisite gallery featuring rare biblical artifacts and an array of breathtaking photography from the series production in celebration of the epic miniseries. Previously at the Vatican, these one-of-a-kind rare artifacts will be on display exclusively for the first time ever in New York.
The Bible Experience is located at 450 West 14th Street between Washington and 10th Avenue and will run 10:00AM to 6:00PM daily from March 20, 2013 to March 27, 2013. Admission is free.

I have really benefitted from the Bible series and it actually makes me think of God and His interactions in the world, throughout history. At the same time, I have a really hard time with the fact that it’s in English and everyone has a British accent. Additionally, it feels like they are rushing through the stories and not including some important aspects of the stories. I’m happy, however, to see that the series is inspiring filmmakers to try their hand at some movies based on Biblical stories. Hopefully, they will use a little more care and accuracy in their retelling. One thing I really enjoyed about “Passion of the Christ”, is the fact that the native languages were used in the retelling.

I too have been watching the Bible. If I miss it, they repeat it at a later time. And I think on another cable channel too. I would so love to see this event and enjoy looking at the artifacts. Going to the Vatican would be a dream come true as well.

I have not watched it, but have heard good things. I may have to set my DVR since I don’t always have time to sit when its on.
