A parent’s life can be a hard one. The kids always come first, and it’s easy to forget your priorities in the process. This is especially true when it comes to television. The kids rarely seem to realize that mom wants to watch her programs too. Keeping up with you favorite shows can be tough when you can’t get close to the remote. You don’t have to miss the new season of your favorite program, though. Follow these tips to keep track of your shows without looking through the television guide!
APPS
There are some excellent apps out there that can tell you when a new series of your favorite show is on the way. The Netflix app informs you of any new releases for shows you’ve watched. You can also sign up for email alerts! Apps like Next episode are also excellent for tracking certain shows. Apps give you plenty of notice when your best shows are released. This notice allows you to ensure you can make the time to watch your favorites. You could even put them on record if the television is in use! Apps are easy to use, and you can download them to your phone with no hassle.
WEBSITES
Plenty of sites can help you keep track of your favorite shows. If you’ve been waiting for supernatural season 10 episode 1, fear no longer! Keeping an eye on sites which track the progress of your favorite shows will take away the worry. Again, they allow you to set your programs on record when they do come on. That way, you can watch in peace when you get the house to yourself!
SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is another easy way to keep track of your programs. Everything has a social media account these days, and shows are no different. Follow your favorite shows to receive updates of new releases on your news feed. Social media also allows you to get to grips with behind the scenes updates of shows and actors. Never before has it been so easy to see into the intricacies of television! If you’re interested, you could follow the individual stars too. That way, you definitely won’t miss out on the latest news.
MAGAZINES
If all that technology sounds like too much for you, you could always keep it old school. There are still television magazines available that will tell you what’s coming up. A television magazine gives you a printed television guide which is worth keeping handy. With the guide in front of you, you’ll be able to work out a television schedule. Scheduling when programs are on will ensure you don’t miss the shows you want to see! These magazines also include interviews with actors and directors. You’ll still get plenty of behind the scenes gossip!
Getting to grips with how to keep track of your shows is crucial for any busy mom. Don’t miss out on your favorites! You don’t need to wait for the television to be free anymore.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

There are so many good choices for TV and many bad ones. So much of it comes down to parenting. You actually have to take the time to LOOK to see what tey are watching. Most TVs also have parental controls now. Honestly, TV can be a decent thing, bit like most things it has to be monitored.

Those are good tips for anybody, whether or not you’re a mom. We sure do watch TV differently nowadays–no more sitting down to watch an episode when it’s on or you’ll miss it until it repeats who knows when! I like being able to watch shows on demand or on streaming services. I turn to the IMDB website frequently to figure out episode order and things like that.

Thank you for sharing these great tips. You have to monitor what your children watch constantly, parental controls are not enough as a deterrent.. It does help that some of our programs can be watched on websites.

My sister could use these. She watches stuff. I don’t.

Interesting ideas to track those shows I watch or that the kids watch. I don’t watch a lot of TV but don’t always “know” when my shows are on and miss some.

I try and make sure my kids are doing other fun educational things instead of just sitting in front of the TV. There is so many other things to do!

I think these are great tips for anyone honestly. There are so many other things you could be doing. I know when I was a kid out tv was very limited so we played outside a lot.. and liked it that way!

I agree with magazines most of all. Highlights is a great magazine for kids that will keep them busy for ages with the puzles, jokes, and stories.

There are some really great educational apps out there now. My kiddos love ABC Mouse and there is a wonderful alphabet and puzzle one that they enjoy too. But when we try to get away from the screen the play-doh comes out or the crayons do… it is always one of those two options that my kids gravitate towards.

Things have gotten more complicated. I love having so many choices, but that makes making the best choice more difficult.

I use Netflix and Hulu to help me keep up with my shows. Usually have my niece here and she always gets the TV.
