The Color Purple Stops Me in My Tracks

Jun 01, 2013 | Rita

The color purple when I see it in nature always make me stop and look it. There is just something about that color in nature is awe-inspiring to me and I really can’t tell you why. I took this picture while I was out walking a day or so ago.

Color Purple Flowers I See Everyday

These little flowers grow everywhere near my driveway and every single time I walk or drive pass them I have to stop and take a minute to simply enjoy them. They are a very deep purple which to me is pleasing on the eyes. I never pick them because they make me itch. Found that out the hard way! Enjoying the color purple is just one of those quirky things about me!

The Color Purple is a Cow?

We used to have an ice cream parlor in town that was call The Purple Cow. It was one of those small town delights that was overpriced but enjoyable. My brother loved to head up there whenever he visited however my nephew was less inclined to enjoy the treat.  His response is that you can’t have a purple cow and he wasn’t going inside one! He was only 3 at the time.

We all have a color that we somehow identify with for whatever reason. There really isn’t a specific reason why I love the color purple. Like I said it is really only when it is nature as I think I have maybe 1 purple shirt. The color isn’t in any of decor or clothing at all. Somehow in nature I think very much like the movie said (I’m paraphrasing:)

God gets angry when we don’t stop and enjoy the color purple.

For me it is when you see a bunch of color of flowers together, I just marvel at how much variety there is in nature and how beautiful God’s creation is.

My color that makes me stop and look is lime green. It always reminds me of Spring. I always think of new beginnings when I see it. For some reason that is one of my favorite colors.
