Every now and again I think we all need a God checkup! I mean a complete physical on where you stand at that moment with God and where he stands in your life. Not so long ago I would have said that God didn’t have a place left in my life.
Now every morning I do my best to thank him the day that is ahead of me and spend a little time going over things with him. At the end of every night I thank for everything that happened and go over anything pressing with him. I don’t mean like a meeting but then yes it is sort of like a meeting. I just talk to God and then wait and listen with my heart for his reply. I don’t always hear it but I listen. There are times when thanking him for the worst part of the day just isn’t in me. So I am honest and tell him so. I think it beats praying a thanking for something that still bothers me.
Right now I think my God checkup is right on track. I am not sure if it is my track or his but I am doing okay and learning more than I ever realized. It is funny how God uses the worst situations to show us our strengths and just how powerful he can be.

Is it time for your God checkup?
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

How true and I feel exactly as you. There are many times as I start my day, I know I should be praying but usually will forget about it when I know better. I make sure to pray at night but feel guilty as I know I need his guidance as I go through my day. Guess there will always be things we don’t understand and why they happen but he has a plan for us. We’ll find out his plan eventually.

Yes I agree with you and I too start my day out thanking God that my eyes opened and my feet hit the ground. I know that anything past that will only be a bonus. I struggle with my faith from time to time, but I do manage to find some positives in all the negatives to be thankful for. I know that everything is in God’s time.

Gratitude is so important and I think people forget about it. Somehow we get so wrapped up in what we think “has to be done” that we forget about all the things that we can be thankful for.

I think God and I are on track. I usually take time at the end of the day to go over how things went that day. Ask him to watch over those I love. I think we all go through periods were we are a little frustrated with God and how things are going. During those times I try to tell myself that it could be worse then it is. Sometimes we forget about all the little things in life. I count my blessings each day.

I am not a very religious person, but I know that God always has a place in my life. I do need to make a God check a little more often. I am thankful for what I have.

I like the idea of having a check up. God always speaks to us, but we sometimes don’t slow down enough to listen. I really want to remember to be more grateful, especially now that I have many challenges right now. Family, career, and health. Some areas are improving…others are at a stalemate. But it is always important to remember God. He never forgets us.

I try to do what you do but I don’t give myself a check up enough. I am reading my Bible every day which has been wonderful. I do need to pray more though.
