The Mother’s Secret of a Happy Life is a book that is out of my normal romance or food range that I seem to be settled into lately and to be honest when I came across it over at NetGalley I wasn’t sure if I wanted to read but something kept pulling me back to it so I thought maybe I needed to check it out. Now I am so thrilled that I did.

My Thoughts
The Mother’s Secret of a Happy Life was inspired by Hannah Whitall Smith who is a very fascinating woman that I didn’t know anything about prior to reading this book. The one thing that I really loved about this book was how it made me feel okay to stop, take a break and see the bigger picture that comes with being a mom. There are 20 sections in the book and I took each one or two a day at a time. Doing that allowed me to focus a bit more on each section and really study it more than a simple quick devotional would.
Each of the sections include Bible verses, a snippet from Pilgrims’ Progress (which I am a bit ashamed to admit that I have never read but am now), anecdotes, as well as a prayer. All of that really helped and helped me come away from this being a better mom, I hope. Maybe at least a more rounded mom.
Purchase the Book
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I haven’t hear of this book or of Hannah Whitall Smith. It sounds like it would be a good book to read. Some days motherhood can be very tough! It would be nice to have some inspiration and be able to slow down and see the big picture. Thanks!
