The book, The Temperament God Gave Your Kids by Art and Laraine Bennett is the third book in a series detailing the four types of temperaments that people have and how to use the knowledge to make life easier. The first book was about your temperament, the second about your spouse’s. This installation details how parents can relate to their children according to temperament.
I first used the appendix in the back of the book to determine the temperaments of each of my children. Of course they have different temperaments! Each chapter describes a temperament in complete detail and I could not believe the similarities between my children and the temperament description. The chapters each tell the pros and cons of each temperament and ways for parents to relate to the temperament. For example, My son is phlegmatic who is easy-going and lets others run the show while my daughter is choleric who is full of energy and always right in the middle of things.
I think that this book is a very useful resource for parents, especially those who are confused as to how to approach their children who seem to have polar opposite personalities from themselves. This book is easy to understand and enjoyable to read. Keep “The Temperament God Gave Your Kids” in mind next time you are looking for a great parenting book to read.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
