The Weekend With The In-Laws (#LizClaiborne)

Oct 25, 2012 | Rita

The one thing that I have learned, over the weekend more than ever, is that no matter what your plan when you throw in a Latino family there is no telling what is going to happen. My in-laws were going to arrive from Mexico last Saturday and we were going to meet them in Atlanta and then go to a restaurant because we thought it would be easier. They decided it would be better to come to my house and have dinner there.

Before I tell you their reaction to my outfit I want to thank all of you for helping me choose my outfit. I also want to thank jcpenny and Liz Claiborne for making sure that this day go off without a hitch. It is the day I have been dreading for the entire length of my marriage. I have so worried about what they would think of me.

Well they LOVED me, if I do say so myself. My mother in-law asked me where I got my outfit and that it looked great on me. I felt great in it knowing that I was comfortable. You were all right the jeans were the way to go. I did have t take my shoes off and change them for a pair of flats halfway through the day but that is because I am not use to wearing heels all day.

The entire weekend was filled with food and fun. Aside from how great I looked (and let me tell you I looked so great that I sent pictures to my sister saying “who’s the best looking child now?”) was the sheer joy on my husbands face seeing his family. He has not seen them at all the entire 11 years he has lived here in the States. When they had to leave it broke my heart. Before they left his dad told me I was muy bonita (very beautiful) and his mother told me that she was glad her son found me.

The one thing I learned though is that next time I am going to find someone to take all the pictures. I got hubby to take a few of me but I was the taking most of them. I also learned that had I not had the confidence of knowing that I looked well I don’t know what would of happened. Since my outfit was already chosen and ready to go I wasn’t running around trying to decide what to wear. When they arrived the house was clean, the kids dressed, most of the meal ready, and I was dressed and calm. Thank you all so much!

This outfit gave me the confidence I needed to make a great impression. jcpenney carries iconic brands like Liz Claiborne that make looking good effortless at great prices. Go to jcpenney to shop for more of fall’s best trends.

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of jcpenney. The opinions and text are all mine.
