One of the great things about spending time with the kids during this holiday season is all of the amazing movies and shows we get a chance to watch. We don’t do that a lot throughout the year because we are so busy and that it is one of the biggest reasons I really try and take the time off during the holidays to do that. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to watch and review The Wild Life recently and I will say that this movie was interesting.
About The Wild Life
Embark on a tropical misadventure with a group of quirky animals and their human castaway, Robinson Crusoe. When savage cats invade their paradise, Robinson and the island’s animals team up to defend themselves and their home in this fun-filled movie.
The Wild Life home entertainment special features include a behind-the-scenes featurette looking at the making of the film, an introduction to the characters, a Wild Life music video, and a short “Tips for Your Trip” featurette for viewers to successfully prepare for their next trip to the islands. The Wild Life will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD for the suggested retail price of $34.99 and $29.95, respectively.
This is the kid-friendly take on the adventures of Robinson Crusoe so I admit that I wasn’t expecting much because if you have ever read Robinson Crusoe then you know that his survival adventures really aren’t kid-friendly. So I knew that this movie would lose a lot of that quality and essence. We get “Mak” the parrot instead giving us the story from the view point of the animals on the island.

All in all it is a fun movie for kids to watch although I would highly recommend that parents take it for what it is, a kid’s movie, and not try to find the similarities between what we already know of the story. The kids all enjoyed it and because they laughed and had a great time watching it so did I.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I have no idea why, but I never read Robinson Crusoe. I read everything else:)… I think I’ll watch this then fill in the deficiencies in my reading list!

On some movies you just have to let go of your expectations and experience the show.

Although I don’t have kids, I remember thinking this movie looked cute when it first came out. I’m not sure I’d go out of my way to watch it now, but I’m sure it will be on TV sometime and I’ll catch it then. Thanks for sharing your experience with it.

My niece got a copy of this for Christmas. I told her that I wanted to watch it with her.
