When I first started blogging I used Blogger because it was free and while I liked it okay I was always so jealous of those that were on self hosted WordPress. I could not wait until my little blog began self-sufficient enough to make the switch. So when the day finally came to witch over I was over the moon.
I love using WordPress for a variety of reasons but the biggest is the Plugins! If you are unfamiliar with WordPress, Plugins are these handy little extras that you can add into your blog to do all sorts of things. For example I use one to publish my posts to my Tumblr blog as well as another to help control spam. When I am thinking of something I need or want my blog to do I begin searching places for plugins such as Dev on YouTube or on Google Plus because this where I am going to get the information such as will this plugin really work for me.
I don’t want to simply upload plugins only to have them crash my blog or not be what I need so I do my research. You would not believe all the things that plugins can do and while there are many great ones there are a few that are less than perfect. That is why research is important! I once had someone tell me all about this great plugin, I uploaded it, and it never once did what it was suppose to do All it did was drive me crazy!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

there are plugins for everything nowadays, but you do have to check their validity. that is sound advice. thanks.

That’s interesting, I didn’t realize WordPress allowed for extra features via plugins. That’s great for those that are very serious about blogging and desire features that supplement their site. Thanks for sharing this information!

I myself am not a blogger but I do Blog surf and some of the blogs (like yours) are easy to navigate, read, link out etc…. but there are those that seem to frustrate me and I don’t visit often. I love being able to share material etc but if the blogs plug-ins make it difficult it veers me away.

I just started a blog a few months ago and now I’m thinking that I may want to move to WordPress. Plug-ins and apps are very helpful when it comes to glitzing up your blog and adding more functionality than is available through basic Blogger templates.
