I have been talking about storage and moving a lot. Mostly because the end of the year always makes look at how much space we have or what needs to be changed. One of the things that needs to changed here is Maggie’s closet. Who knew a toddlers closet could be so horrible.
I guess I didn’t realize that her clothes would cause the bar to break. After all her clothes are lighter than mine. While I do need to go through all of her clothes I need to plan her closet even more.
She has clothes, shoes, toys, and who knows what else in there. So I need to plan out what will go where. I have this dream of one of those super organized closets that you see on some blogs or in magazines. I would love to be that put together but if I manage to get what I am hoping to out of this project I will let you know. I mean it will all over the internet because I will make my entire family shared it on social media.
I cam across a couple of articles that were helpful on things I should consider without even thinking about it. The first one suggested that I calibration weight so that I know the weight of materials and such. You can click here to read the entire article. The other article helped me understand a little more about calibration weights. You can click here for that article.
I never thought about checking out the weight of the things I wanted to put in there. After reading those articles it made much more sense. If I do that, which won’t take too much more time, then I will know right away if I need a stronger material. It will certainly save me from having to replace another rod or who knows what else.
I know that I want a couple of shelves in there but I don’t know how many. I had a shoe rack for her once but that little rebel refused to use it. No matter how many times I put them on the rack she would take them all off. We ended up compromising and using a pretty basket to put them all in.
She is very opinionated (don’t know where she gets that from) and will dig in her heels if she doesn’t want to do something. I want a closet that will grow with her. I think maybe a little stool with the rack higher may be the best way to go. Yet I have a fear of her falling while trying to get her clothes.
My child shouldn’t have ore clothes than any of the adults in the house yet she does. She also won’t wear clothes that have touched one another in the closet. It’s a phase she’s going through and right now we are hiding the big whopping pile at the bottom of her closet. We fixed the door so she can’t open it. DON’T JUDGE!
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
