Although it may still be winter, summertime is perfect when it comes to throwing an outdoor party or get-together with family and friends. Not only that, it’s also a great way to get to know new neighbors or revive old friendships. So as we get closer to the weather breaking around the country think about what kind of fun cook-out and party you can have to celebrate the arrival of spring.
Regardless of how long you’ve lived in your current neighborhood, you can throw an amazing BBQ party that everybody enjoys. How? That’s exactly what we will be discussing in this article…
Preparing for the BBQ Party
1. Clean and prepare your grill. If you don’t have one, you can get one at most hardware stores or even large distributors like Home Depot or Lowe’s. Also see to it that you’ve got gas or charcoal for the grill.
2. Place cushions over the tables and get some comfy chairs. If any of the tables are old, cover them with a decorative tablecloth.
3. Decide on who all you’re going to invite to your BBQ party and send them customized invitations.
4. Clean off your patio or deck and don’t forget to mow the grass because your guests will feel more relaxed and comfortable in a neat environment.
5. Make sure you’ve got sunscreen along with a mosquito repellent by your side just in case anybody needs it.
Exploring Different BBQ Party Menu Ideas
#1: Western
By choosing a classic western barbecue food menu, you will find that everybody enjoys the food. You can use a variety of different sauces on ribs, steaks, chops, chicken, fish, etc. In the main course, you get to include baked beans, potato salad and coleslaw.
And when it comes to dessert you can serve handmade ice cream, apple pie, berry cobbler – a typical Western way to end the sumptuous meal.
#2: Kabobs
The good thing about kabobs is that you can prepare them to fit any BBQ theme, regardless of the food requirements. And the best part? You can prepare them well in advance!
Begin by filling skewers with proper lamb chunks, onion, pepper along with cherry tomatoes. You can add pineapple pieces to get a sweeter taste. As far as the salads go, spinach and Tabouli act as complement the main Kabob dishes. Barbecued fruit kabobs make for a solid, enjoyable dessert.
#3: Tropical
If you’re throwing a BBQ party with the beach or pool theme, then tropical barbecue menus work the best. Here, for the main course, you can serve grilled ribs, lemon chicken, prawns and also grilled tuna steaks.
The dessert here can be simple in which you can have coconut flan, grilled amaretto peaches and fried bananas as they go well with the tropical theme.
A BBQ Party is all about the food and without good food it will be a stinker of a party. Be sure to have high quality meat and preparation products from places like MeatProcessingProducts.com to get the most out of your grill. The ideas above should be a great start to throw the best party on the block this summer.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

We LOVE having BBQ’s our neighbors do too, we don’t wait for summer or spring, we have them in the winter and fall too! Although we have not done a themed BBQ yet. That will be next on my list! Thanks for the great Ideas.

We live in the Austin area so BBQ is something we can do all year round if we want. We love doing a western style BBQ. We make a bunch of food and eat it during the whole week.

We grill all year long even though we are in snow country. We grill and invite people over and it reminds them of summer.

These are fun ideas – it is still a wonderful time of year to have an Indian summer bash! I’d say if you’re going to do it don’t try to skimp! People will notice! Although casual, a good amount of planning can make it more fun, from a little bit of theme decorations, to a few mixer ideas, and esp something for the kids.
