Sometimes life can be really tough on us and one of the best ways to help us feel better is treating ourselves to something we want. Whether it is something big or small whenever you treat yourself it makes you happy and can get you over lots of difficult times. By treating yourself you do not have to think you have to buy yourself stuff though, there can be little things you can do at home that can help too, obviously going out shopping will help but sometimes just doing something for yourself at home is what you need.

Have a lovely breakfast in bed
You do not need anyone else around to enjoy a lovely breakfast in bed, it is always seen as something you are treated to by someone else but nothing stops you treating yourself with it. Make your favourite breakfast with a glass of OJ and coffee, pop it on a tray and chill in bed with a lovely breakfast while you just relax or watch a bit of tele. Something as simple as this can make you feel great to start off your day.
Chill and listen to or read a book
There is something about just putting your feet up and indulging in a favourite book or starting a new one, and with the ability to have audiobooks now this can be an even better way to chill with your favourite book. Spending just an hour of your day chilling with a good book will help you feel happier and help you feel more rested for the rest of your day, taking time out for you is very important to make sure you are happy.
Get yourself some flowers
Try to get yourself some flowers once a week or even a month, yes it is great to get them off others but there is nothing wrong with treating yourself to a lovely big bouquet of flowers to help brighten up your home. They do not have to be expensive as you can pick up some beautiful flowers for cheap these days, and they can usually last around two weeks so you won’t have to constantly replace them.
Go out for a lovely coffee
Some people need coffee to function everyday and some just have it as an indulgence when they fancy treating themselves, either way coffee is a big part of a lot of people’s lives. Buying a lovely cup of coffee as a treat is a great way to put a smile on your face, either get it to take away and enjoy a lovely walk with your coffee or drink in and enjoy the atmosphere of a coffee shop and relax with the aromas of fresh coffee.
Get yourself a makeover
Whether it be makeup, a facial or just a new hairstyle, getting out and pampering yourself is a great way to treat yourself and make yourself feel great. Getting a makeover is a great way to help you feel great, if you have a function or night out coming up it is a great time to pamper yourself and get a new style, maybe think about a change of hair color and look up some honey blonde hair ideas to find a new style and color. You could also give yourself a makeover or do it with a friend, this is a great way to save money and have fun at the same time, it is always nice to go out and get a makeover but sometime you don’t have time or the money so doing it yourself can be just as much a treat especially if made into a night with friends.
Take a day off for you
Sometimes when you take days off from work you always want to try and get stuff done you wouldn’t be able to while working like catching up on cleaning or going out, but sometimes you need to just take a day off for you. Just spend time doing whatever you want to do, if you want to spend the day in bed snacking then do so, spend all day watching movies or just sleep all day, whatever you want to do then do it, as long as it is within reason and affordable then why not. Taking time for you is always a great way to feel better about yourself and help you be happier.
Spend a day baking
Some people love to bake but just do not give themselves the time to do it, so treat yourself to a day of baking. Spending the day making cakes, flavoured marshmallows, pastries and pies and baking your heart out, doing something you love to do like baking is bound to make you feel happy and so will eating all the treats afterwards. Baking is a great way to better your mood and just enjoy some time with yourself. If you have children you can also incorporate spending time with them. It can be great fun and make you really happy doing something you love and spending time with family.
Buy a little something you have wanted
There is always a little something you have wanted for a while and never bothered getting so go out and get it. There is nothing better than just treating yourself to something you have wanted for a while, it doesn;t have to be expensive or big, just a little item you may have noticed and thought was silly to buy but you liked, just treat yourself and enjoy it.
