There have been so many different calendars and project management systems I have used over the years. Most have worked for a short amount of time but then I needed more. Or maybe I just didn’t want to spend a fortune at a time. When I decided to take a full month vacation, one where I had no plans to lug around my laptop and my mobile office I knew I needed something that would still allow me to check in and work a little without the pile of stuff. Then I remembered I already had a tool that would work. Trello was a tool that we used for Pucker Factor Offroad as a way to share notes and other information. It was free and allows us to stay in the loop of things.
So I went in search of using Trello for blogging and stumbled across Bloom Hustle Grow and her free Trello 101 course. I took it and then ended up signing up for one of her other courses. I can’t begin to tell you how her boards made a difference for me. I took an entire weekend and set everything up using her boards as a guide. One things about Trello is that it is very easy to make it custom for you. I use Teams to separate out my boards.
I gave each of blogs their own editorial calendars and then set up one for social media and other things that needed a calendar.
I have a Notes Team and in there is all sorts of notes and information for each blog. I have branding notes in there and so much more. I used Bloom Hustle Grow’s project launch board as a template for launching A Lucky Grace and was able to stay on top of everything. I stayed on track and by July first all of my articles were written and ready to go.
I even set up a Packing List board so that I could make sure I packed everything that I needed to. I will move everything back to the To Pack section and then when we get ready to go home I will go through the list and make sure that we have everything packed and ready to head home. I set up a Templates team where I keep all of my templates so that I can find them easily. I promise that I will go over more in-depth each of boards and how use them In fact after my vacation I plan to do a walk through video with you for my editorial calendar as well as my other calendars.
I can’t begin to tell you home much easier this has made my life. I can access my Trello account from anywhere. I have the app on my phone and tablets as well as all of my computers. While Trello is free you can upgrade and I did to Trello Gold which is $5 a month. It allows me to use custom backgrounds, have more power-ups, and a few other things that I needed.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

This looks like a great system to use for blogging. I really like the looks of it. I can see where it would make things so much easier!
