How many of you have ever had a drink called Hot Apple Pie? Well I haven’t and all I can say is where in the world has this been? TUACA actually sent me their product to try out along with the recipe for this particular drink.
Having been created more than 500 years (the original recipe) TUACA is a blend of vanilla, distilled essences of Mediterranean citrus fruits and brandies. It was created as symbol of patronage to Lorenzo de Medici, or Lorenzo the Magnificent as he was known who ruled Florence, Italy. Then forgotten and rediscovered by brothers-in-law, Gaetano Tuoni and Giorgio Canepa, and became known as TUACA.
Now the Hot Apple Recipe (which can be found at TUACA here) is simply some TUACA, warm apple cider, whipped cream, and a cinnamon stick but you won’t believe how wonderful it tastes. I received the kit and right away I fell in love with the mug however so did Reese. He informed me that he was a Clemson fan (he’s 8 and the mug is orange) and I not only didn’t need it but if he caught me drinking from it I would pay severely. Those were his exact words so I wisely gave him the mug.
TUACA is very flavorful but not overpoweringly so. It really complimented the apple cider and that got me to thinking. I bet it would be wonderful in Mexican Hot Chocolate or maybe even adding a few chilies to the apple pie drink. That would add just enough spice. In fact I have enough had a splash in my coffee for a toddy and it was heavenly! Especially when I was sick. I can tell you now that this is one product that is always going to be on hand.
Remember to drink responsibly
