Well I showed you my ugly pants now I want to share my favorite ugly shoes. These are my outside shoes although they really should be in the trash. I mean they are really hanging on by a thread and I can’t believe I still have these things. I don’t wear these anywhere expect when I am out in the yard, walking the dog, and that sort of thing. They are nice and broken in which means they are super comfortable and I just love them.
They actually sit right beside the door so if I need to run outside I just slip them on and off I go. I would wear them to town if they didn’t look so bad. I swear I would and the funny thing is that I have searched and searched for a new pair just like them and can’t find them anywhere. I bought these at Walmart and paid very little but Walmart no longer carries them. At least my store doesn’t and I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg.
I have purchased other shoes that are similar but they don’t wear the same and are not just not as comfortable. So I always end up giving them away or throwing them out. So here I am wearing these things until they finally fall apart which could be any day now. Every once in a while I will be walking around din the yard and my little toe will poke its head out. My mom is forever going to throw them out but I won’t let her or anyone else.
Tell me about your ugly shoes
Do you have a pair that is just so hideous that you really need to throw them but can’t?

Hey…these look like the sisters of my favorite shoes! Mine are a pair of Reeboks that were a pretty good pair of shoes…in the 80’s! In our move recently I was so exhausted that I just wanted some comfort, so I wore my “ugly shoes” on the three day trip to get here–breakfast at Denny’s and dinner at Cracker Barrel and all. lol

HAHA YES I do! they are a pair of Nike’s that came out when the live strong campaign was going on, it was the most I have ever paid for a pair of shoes and I swore that I would wear them until I was either arrested for crimes against fashion or they fell apart…. well I haven’t been arrested and they are both technically still in one piece, but they sure the heck are the ugliest shoes I have ever owned! (but extremely comfortable)

Yes, I have a pair of ugly shoes, too! They are a pair of Skechers that I got in very good condition at a yard sales for .25 cents about 4 years ago. Well they are now worn out, and there is a hole in one shoe, but I can not seem to throw them out yet because they still are so comfortable! I understand you about an ugly pair of shoes!

LMAO! Thank you so much for making me have a nice chuckle today! I surely needed it and a prayer. Yep, they are ugly, but I have some that are just as ugly. They are actually a pair of bedroom shoes (Dearfoam slip ons) that are so comfy I hate when I have to take them off. If I had the courage I would post a pic for you to laugh at too! I have an ugly t-shirt that I can’t part with too.

I have a pair of ugly shoes too. They are more like slippers or house shoes. I love them! As soon as I walk in the house I put them on. They are so comfortable that I have been known to leave the house in them and not even realize it. Sometimes I wear them to where I am going then put on my “nice” shoes. It will break my heart when I have to get rid of them.

I really don’t, but only because my husband insists that I throw shoes out when they start to look too ratty. Of course, when I throw out a pair of shoes, it means I HAVE to buy new ones!

I LOVE it! 🙂 Now I don’t feel so bad for keeping my old ugly shoes! Everyone always tells me to just dump mine, but they don’t understand how much I love them. They’re just familiar, comfortable, and so easy to slip-on & off in a hurry. Bless you & your shoes Rita!

I am like you in that I wear my shoes out. I think I do this because my feet are particular and I have a hard time finding shoes that are comfortable.

This post cracked me up! We have what we call our “mowing shoes”, the yard and garden, fishing, or other outdoor shoes we’d have a hard time trashing because they are so comfortable bu old and beaten. Funny thing is, the other day I was cleaning up the “shoe graveyard” in our garage and over the past few years when we get new tennies, the old ones have just accrued. It was so hard to let the old comfies go. If any of us were to wear them out in public we’d probably all have people quietly give us their change…yes, they are THAT bad. But for sure, it’s hard to find a good pair of any shoes that “break in ” right.
My favorite has quite a story. About 5 years ago my daughter was out with friends, celebrating her newly turned 21st year. She had been shopping that day on State Street, a trendy and often eclectic trade area. She spotted the most AWESOME pair of PUMA shoes but could not afford them. Later, when the bars were closing and people were out walking and hooting as they crawled home (LOL) , a guy and girl were walking by and they had the EXACT pair of shoes, NEW IN BOX that she had spotted earlier. My daughter, in an unusual exuberant mood after a few beers, remarked how AWESOME they were and how she wanted to get them that VERY day! As my daughter was out celebrating her birthday, those other silly kids tossed her those very expensive shoes and said she could have them. She tried to say no but they would not hear of it. So funny, she tried to wear those shoes for months, being a full 1 1/2 sizes too big. So eventually she gave them to ME! Not my best color choice but they are the most lightweight, comfy shoes ever!
