When you work at home and are your own boss walking away can be a difficult thing. I am so connected to the computer and work that I really do my best to disconnect and walk away. However I don’t always disconnect completely as I am forever checking email on my phone or checking in on Facebook.
Then there are all the lite things that need to be done, work wise, that I put off because there are more important things going on. Forget about hobbies and family time as I never seem to have the time in the day to work them in. Edgar actually disconnects the Internet so that I can’t work sometimes. I also am the Editor in Chief of the new BE Society Magazine which will be launching in October which means more work. However I am super excited and can’t wait for you all to see it.
This week I am taking a little time to do the little things I put off, to do a couple of hobbies and just breathe. I made a commitment to myself that I was going to put my marriage first then my family and then work. I have days and weeks planned for the rest of the year where I can step away and just spend a little time being me.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

I completely understand where you are coming from. I have a hard time getting away from the computer for reasons other than working.

I hope you get some much needed rest and enjoy your time.

A benefit many people who have a regular job, even though they don’t like it (ie their job is not a 1099 or total self employed), is that they can much easier leave and do other things, even if they are salaried and work many extra hours. It is hard for a person who is his/her own boss to put time into the other things, even though they want to very much.
