Remember how in years past we all rushed out on Thanksgiving day just to get the best Walmart Black Friday Deals? I mean we would plan our meals around it. One year I almost died twice on Black Friday. It was such a nightmare. I remember going with my aunt and honestly I thought she was kidding when she said lets go.
Anyway, we head into town to Walmart and she sits in the car while I brave the crowd. So, I have this list of things she wants, the sales paper in hand, and pick up what she wants. I get into line at the check out and stand there for almost an hour. I’m next up when she calls and says she marked the wrong item and I need to get a different one. I go back and get the new item, only to have a lady push the entire display over on me. I don’t know if she did it on purpose or not but it hurt like the dickens. It was a display of slow cookers so they were heavy.
I got up, limped my way to the check out and stood in line again. I get the stuff out to the car when my aunt proceeded to give the sales ad and her list for the next store. I head over there and stand in line outside because it hasn’t opened yet. The doors open and everyone starts to rush in. I mean, the line just evaporated and I got shoved. Since the sidewalk wasn’t a large one I ended up stumbling right into the parking lot and fell in front of the police car that was coming to help with the crowd.
Luckily he stopped in time but it was a close thing. If all of that wasn’t enough I had to go into the bookstore to get her special friend a gift. No big deal, I love the bookstore. She said she was going to just circle the parking lot since there wasn’t any parking place. Again not a big deal. I went into the store and did what I needed to do then came out. My aunt was nowhere to be found. So I waited, thinking she was just circling the parking lot. Thirty minutes later I still didn’t see her. I walked up and down the parking several times after that. I swear I wanted to cry so badly. I was in pain from the fall and the stupid slow cookers. I just wanted to go home. I had left my cell phone in the car like a dummy and three hours later my aunt came back. She said she had forgotten that she dropped me off and went home after I got out of the car.
It was by and far the worst Black Friday I have ever had and let’s just say I have learned the value of staying at home to the get my Walmart Black Friday Deals. I can use Slickdeals and find all the deals I want at Walmart while being comfortable. No crowds, no crazy people waiting to plow me down. Everything gets shipped to me and the only thing I have to worry about is ensuring the kids don’t open any of the packages.
I do have a method to prevent that. I have every packaged deliver with ATTN: Rita Reviews on it so they think it is work. They don’t bother with the work stuff because they know at this time of the year there are videos and all sorts of other things that have to be done.
My list this year has a few things such as a new television for Ma. She needs one and I am thinking the Vizio is going to be the way we go. That is just one item of many of my list. I even have a few things on my list that I know I will be getting to use as giveaways next year here on the blog. Let’s not even talk about the lists that kids have been making. I’m gonna have to sell a kidney to afford even half of those.
Thankfully they aren’t expecting to receive all of them and I know that Walmart will have some great deals on toys that I can make them happy. Thanks goodness this year for Walmart and Slickdeals because without i’m not sure what I would do. I certainly didn’t want to have to brave the crowds, if there are any at all this year. No, staying home and shopping online is the best option for us. We are a high risk household.
Shopping at home with Slickdeals to get all of my Walmart Black Friday Deals is the safest and easiest thing to do. I had such a bad experience that I’m not a fan of going out into the world on Black Friday. I can get all the deals i want from Walmart while sitting in my fat pants after eating all the turkey I want.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
