When you are choosing your wedding music there is so many options. Many brides go for the very traditional music and have the standard Here Comes the Bride when they walk down the aisle. However more and more brides are choosing music that means something to them and will make their day all the more special. Traditional music can be blended well with the more modern music although you should really consider each song.
Be sure that you listen to the words very carefully or even look them up online as you don’t want a song that talks about heartbreak and divorce no matter how beautiful the music is. Your first consideration needs to be are you going the traditional or the modern route? If you are going the traditional route a few good songs include:
- Wedding March (Mendelssohn)
- Trumpet Voluntary (J. Clark)
- Trumpet Tune (H. Purcell)
- Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring (J.S. Bach)
If you want something a bit more modern a few good song choices include:
- First Day Of My Life ( Bright Eyes)
- I Chose You Grace Potter and the Nocturnals)
- I Won’t Give Up (Jason Mraz)
- Reasons to Love You (Meiko)
- Make You Feel My Love ( Adele)
We are going with something that means something to us. I am going to walk down the aisle to Newsong’s When God Made You (below) because I think that it is simply the most beautiful and perfect song.
We are walking back up the aisle to Ramon Ayala’s Riconcito en el Cielo because it is one of the first songs that Edgar ever sang to me and it is upbeat. I am having it cut a bit because the intro is a bit long. The song is below and the lyrics in English are below that. As you can see we are making our day all about us which is what a wedding should be!
A Little Corner in the Sky
I‘m going to search for,
a little corner in the sky,
to take you, my love.
I‘m going to search for,
a little corner in the sky,
to hide us, you and I.
A little corner in the sky,
United together the two of us.
And when the night falls,
I will give you my love.

I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

These are some really nice songs to play at a wedding and it can really make a wedding sound so nice. My sister had some of these songs on the list at her wedding. But, I think most brides want to walk down the aisle with the traditional Wedding march song.

Boy picking the music is a tough one. There really is so many choices. I think the important thinh to keep in mind is to pick the type of music you really like. It is your day and anything goes. I love the song Make You Feel My Love from Adele. Great choice.

These wedding songs will be useful for me as I am in the process of making a DVD Slideshow for my niece with the wedding photos I took. Thanks for the great song suggestions.
