The last couple of Sundays I did not have this and was asked if I would keep it going. I didn’t think many people wanted it but now I realize that many of you really want the weekly prayer requests. So I have brought it back. I will continue to have it each Sunday and please know that if I do happen to miss a Sunday it is because there must be something else going on.
This week’s verse is Psalm 103:13-15 and it tells us that just as parents show compassion and understanding to our own children so to does God. While the verse uses the phrase “those who fear him” it still means the same. For to fear God is to love God. Think about it for a moment; as teenagers (mostly) we fear our parents in that if we are caught doing something they would punish us. Yet it is because of that fear we stayed on the straight path and although we feared them we still loved and respected them.
My mother is the best example here. Each and every one of us fears her because she simply did not play when we were growing up. Even now as adults we have that fear. Once my brother told me to run over and push Ma over while she was bent down. He was being funny and told me not to worry he had my back. I ran over and did it and when I turned around not only him but all of other siblings had all run into the house. We fear her yet we love her!
God is the same way, as out father we fear him yet because we fear him we love him. This week as each of you write your prayer requests down please take a little time to remember those who have written a request before you and all those who need prayers but don’t ask.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the amazing week you have given me. I have asked for your help and guidance and you have given it freely and without question. I pray that I am able to live up to the promises I have made and will work hard to do so. Please bless and help all those who comment needing help and even more so those who feel they cannot ask. In Jesus’ name Amen.

I have never had my fear/love of God explained in such a way that I really “got” it. I am embarrassed to admit that I fear him and didn’t understand a scripture such as this one. Thank you so much.
Please continue to pray for my family and myself as we battle my Lupus. It is the very reason why my pain is too great to sleep at 5am! Thank you so much!
