Do you have your list of core values? I saw an article the other day and it had a list of core values which got me thinking. Do I know what mine are? They change over the years don’t they? First, here is the list of values I saw:
Now, this list is by no means the perfect list or even the most complete list. I think they are just the most common values. There are several on that list that I would argue maybe shouldn’t be on there. I mean is popularity really a value?
Do They Change?
I do believe that our core values change as we get older. Our priorities change and what may have been important when we were younger is not so important now. That popular one I mentioned above? When I was younger it may have very well been important to me. Now, I am older and it seems silly for it to be on the list.
Above is my list of core values. Things that are important to me at this moment in my life. Things that I need to learn to not compromise or settle for less than what I believe and want. Maybe they are the most important things at this given moment but they are the core of the things that are important. The root belief for me at this given time in my life.

Most of those are mine too! Some of the only things that matter.
Audrey Stewart says
My core values are kindness, a great love for animals and my daughters. I have no interest in friendships at all. I don’t talk on a phone…send me an email. I love to be alone, so I never get lonely. I do have cat colonies I care for and cats that live with me. I am not a people person at all. And I have reasons for why I value and don’t value certain things.
Adriane says
My core values -be kind, be ethical, use empathy, be slow to anger and forgive as much as I can, appreciate what I have and fight my tendency to worry and live in fear, do your work to the best of your ability and step up when you can
Bea LaRocca says

So many of these listed are my core values and they do not change. I would have to say at the top of the list are loyalty, honesty, fairness, faith and love.
Rita Wray says
