The holiday season is approaching, meaning that it’s time to think of some thoughtful and lovely gifts that your family members, friends, and loved ones are going to delight in. Many of us have one of them in our lives: the person who seemingly cannot live without the latest gadget or gizmo. From gaming consoles to phones, smart home technology to drones, there’s plenty of great tech on the market this year, and here are a few of the picks worth considering for your holiday picks.
The latest iPhone
If your loved one is truly caught in the hype machine, then they might be the type of person who waits every year to hear about the latest iPhone. This year, that would be the iPhone 15 Pro, which many are agreeing is one of the best devices they have ever made, with an improved camera, sharper visuals than ever, and some serious gaming power, to the point that it’s running some of the latest triple-A games also appearing on modern consoles.
Staying current with gaming
We’re about halfway through the current generation of gaming so, if your loved one rarely puts down the controllers but has yet to get their hands on the PS5 or the Xbox Series S or X, then there’s still plenty of time to help them hop into the generation. One console that you might want to skip, as a replacement is very likely to get announced in the next year or so, is the Nintendo Switch. What’s more, these consoles are becoming a lot more widely available as it seems the microprocessor shortage that was dominating the market seems to have eased off a little.
Take a more nostalgic approach
Maybe your loved one already has the latest gaming consoles but is something of an oldhead in the medium. If they’re always going on nostalgically about the games of yesteryear or they consider themselves something of a collector, there is a line of classic consoles that is making it much easier to play their favorites in the modern day. Options like the Playstation Classic Mini Console don’t need to have any games bought for them, they come with dozens of games loaded into them, so all they have to do is plug in and play and before long they will playing some of the greatest games ever made, hassle-free.
The smart replacement for TV
Certainly not the only smart technology that we’re going to mention in these recommendations, this is an example of just how popular smart homes and all of their interconnected applications and gadgets are becoming. Smart projectors are a great way to enjoy TV and movies in a more cinematic light, and nowadays, they’re becoming small enough to be much more easily stored, be it in the living room, in the home cinema, or even in the backyard with a big white sheet to serve as the screen.
Take to the skies
The enthusiasm that the tech market has for a good drone has not diminished in the least. In fact, as it becomes a real passion for a lot of photographers and hobbyist flyers, the models that they release only become more and more specific to their needs, and impressive in their capabilities. The DJI Mini 4 Pro is a good example of the latest and greatest, with a focus on super-lightweight design for portability and speed, while also delivering superior photography and visual features. Of course, if you’re buying a drone for a loved one, you had better have a good idea of what they want to use it for. It’s all well and good getting them one that can do photography, but you might want to make sure they are actually using it for photography, or your money could be better used on the other features that they will be more likely to use.
For the note-takers
Does your loved one have a busy professional life? Or perhaps they’re creative, always taking the time to stop and note down what thought they had? Whatever the case, if they’re using paper notepads, they could be giving themselves much more waste to deal with than they need. Digital notepads are one of the latest crazes, allowing people to take notes on cloud-connected digital pages, that can be saved, organized, and wiped away with ease.
Put some sounds on
One of the constantly evolving realms of tech is in the field of sound and audio. Headphones are always super popular, whether it’s to listen to audiobooks on your walk, get some workout tunes pumping, or help you keep focused through a tough workday. If your loved one is always wearing theirs, then helping them update and upgrade could be just the thing. There is a range of options out there, from wireless headphones designed to be more convenient and portable than ever, to noise-canceling headphones that can help them really get into the zone with whatever they’re listening to. Of course, there are plenty of great headphones that combine both features, as well.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
