With winter in full swing many of us are experiencing a big case of winter ‘blahs’ there are a few things that we can do, however to step out of the blue zone and cheer ourselves up.
Plan, plan, and do: Sometimes having something to look forward to might be just what the doctor ordered for a better mood. Why not take these cold months to plan something fun for the spring and summer. Maybe it will be the right time to visit relatives that live further away, or take a road trip to some unknown places. Some people choose this time to plan and tackle indoor renovations projects. By having plans and something to do you can keep yourself occupied and happier.
Play: Winter is the ideal time to play some indoor games. There are plenty of affordable online casino options that are great for a quick game, and for some of them you don’t even need to deposit.Online gaming is pretty great as you do not need special equipment, and with quick games that are acceptable all the time, they are the perfect quick distraction.
Relax: There is a reason that many animals hibernate during the winter time. Maybe we should follow their lead. While summer time is often pretty hectic with back yard BBQ and summer activities, the winter gives us some downtime which can be pretty wonderful for busy families and individuals. So instead of feeling down, why not check out a recent bestseller or try out a new hobby that has interested you in the past?

I’m all in for hibernating! LOL! I find I tend to do a lot of spring cleaning in the winter months, get a head start on it (blinds, baseboards, etc). I also read a lot more.

Good reminder. It’s easy to stay indoors during the Winter, but when you do go outside, there’s a ton of stuff to do!

Thanks! You actually cheered me up with your post. I feel bad about my “down time’. Seems like I DO hibernate and dont get out a lot or get a lot of things/projects done. Books are awesome as are BLOGS!
We don’t get to plan much bc our kids keep our schedules so busy most months, but that is OK. I dread the day when they are all gone.

Having two little boys keeps me going in the winter. As long as there is snow outside and not extremely cold, we go sledding.. build snowmen and snow castles (with pales and little shovels).

I like the hibernation ideas, too. Having lived in the deep south most of my life, I have the idea that ice and snow are reasons to stay home. I’m for warm comfort foods, movies, and board games 🙂

Fantastic Ideas! We recently discovered a local small craft store that always has something fun and new to do, plus they are inexpensive! We have had many mild days in the 70’s so we were outside as soon as we could, but on those bitter cold days, I was able to get our camping trip scheduled and planned (even made up the packing lists). We also taught my 5 year old how to play RISK, and now he is tough to beat :/ haha

I agree, relax 🙂 My idea of relax is a hot cocoa or latte in the nice warm house with a book or movie with my honey 🙂

I will pass on the online casino’s. I already spend to much time on the computer. 🙂 I like the idea of finding a project to work on. It’s time to tackle my linen closet.

I agree that having something to look forward to really helps with your mood! At least it does with mine & I know me being in a good mood helps the whole family! And what a good idea to start a new “indoor” hobby! Thanks!

Winter months are great for indoor activies like reading and hobbies. I personally love to bake. Whis is perfect, since a lot of the major holidays involve baking. Plus, it tends to be cooler/cold in the winter and having the oven on warms up the house. I’m looking forward to the Spring, though. New city and new adventures for us.

My kids love it when it snows. We don’t get much where we live, but we try to make the most of it when we do!
