Wishful Wednesday: Surfing

Apr 05, 2017 | Rita

It’s Wishful Wednesday again and this week my wish is something that I have always wanted to do and that is surf. I know that sounds crazy to be forty years old and want to learn to surf. Not to mention that I live so far inland that it would never happen. I have never learned to do anything like that before and it is on my bucket list.

At some point int he next two years I am going to tackle several of the items on my bucket list. I am telling you now that surfing is going to be one of those things. Some time in the future you will find that surfing will move forma Wishful Wednesday post to an “I did it” post.

I have no doubt that this will be a I got to stand once and got someone to take a picture sort of thing. I don’t expect to e good at it or even be okay at it. I have a bad ankle which leaves my balance off in a big way. I can’t do a lot of things because of it. Surfing is one of those things but I intend to try. After all my father told me that can’t never could. So I have to try.

Is there anything that you want to try to do that you haven’t yet?

I hope you get the chance to learn to surf. If I were younger I’d love to join you in this great addition to your bucket list, however age and health wouldn’t allow it to me on mine. I have to stay with sit down things like winning $500. in a giveaway. 🙂

I bet you would be great at it. I’m 40 and while that may be older than most learning to surf I could care less. I only need to be able to say I tried.

It may sound silly, but I always wanted to be able to do a cartwheel. I wanted to be able to do it just for fun, and also to try out for cheerleading. I tried many years and my dad tried an entire summer to teach me, and decades later, I would love that free feeling of exhilaration! So I can relate to wanting to be able to surf!

That doesn’t sound silly at all. I can’t do cartwheels now but I can remember doing them in my youth. I hope that you get the chance to experience it.

I would love to learn how to surf! I have also been wanting to learn how to rock climb, but I am intimidated!

I haven’t done any heavy rock climbing but have done a little in my youth. It is awesome and if you do it at the right time of day it can be breathtaking.

I hope you get to surf, I havent ever done it either! I would one day to go on an airplane. Nope, I have never ever flown. I think it would be so exciting to be that high up in the air. I would love to go in a smaller plane for a better experience.

I have been on a plane (both large and small) but if you want the best experience of being in the air then I suggest a helicopter ride. There is nothing like it.

I can’t draw either. You should take the classes, you never know you may be great at it.

I love this wishful Wednesday! I have never tried surfing, as I would think you would need great balance and tight core muscles, both of which I lack! But when I see it on tv it sure does look like it would be a rush! And something amazing to accomplish one day. Good luck to you!

I don’t have either of those either but I’m going to give a go if I get the chance. The worst that can happen is I fall and maybe drown but I plan on making sure I’m doing it with someone I trust.
