One of the best things about working from home is that no matter what happens or where I am I can keep working. I have been blessed over the years with being able to do what I love from anywhere in the world. I work with brands and people from all over the world as well and I wanted to create a post that I could reference for them to explain what’s going on.
So, most of you know that I had a stroke and spent some time in the hospital. I am home and recovering however that recovery will take months if not years to fully happen. I am currently in a wheelchair because I cannot move the left side of my body. In fact, I can’t do most of the normal things that we all take for granted. I am unable to turn over in bed at night.
I currently spend most of my time in the bed because that is the easiest room for me to get around in. I can sit in the bed and watch television and have one of the hospital tables to allow me to put food, drinks, books, etc in front of me. I do go to my desk each day and try to do some work. Work that used to take me ten minutes, takes an hour some days. I have to type one handed. Now, I didn’t lose my speech which I am grateful for because I can use dictation software to help write posts and answer emails.
All those posts that have been happening are either posts that I had written before the stroke, my sister in-law helped me write or have taken me three hours to produce. It is a slow and painful process for me. I am determined to get movement back but I have no idea what that timeline looks like. I will adapt and things will get better.
I appreciate all of your support and kind words during this time. I will of course be updating the blog with my progress as I go through this. It is a difficult time and if I am honest a frustrating time. I never imagined that doing something simple as putting on my pants would become such a production. I am more than a little angry at my body and struggle to stay positive. The little work I am able to accomplish each day helps.
I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.
