We love eating fried foods in my home. The problem with that is that our health doesn’t like when we do that. I had never heard of an air fryer when I was offered the chance to check one out. My uncle however had and told me that maybe we should try it. I mean it couldn’t be that bad right? So I said yes and we waited for this XL Air Fryer from Simple Living Products to arrive. While we were waiting for it to arrive we were plotting what we were going to cook first.
It Arrived!
After lots of discussion it finally arrived and we weren’t ready. We needed a couple of ingredients and had company. Now I’m not normally a bad host but I didn’t want to try out a new product in front of other people and to be totally honest…..I didn’t want to share my chicken. Yes, you ready that correctly. I love chicken as in I could eat it every meal, every day sort of way. You don’t come between this girl and her chicken.

Anyway….we ended up using it the next day since I needed to make a run to the store.
Isn’t it just the most beautiful thing ever? That fabulous handle pulls open the drawer where you put the food. It is a 5.2 L and holds more than enough food for a family of seven. I realize that we are larger than the average family and I think it is important to point that out. One of the things I love about the air fryer is that the senior citizens here can use it. Ma hasn’t cooked in a long time, mostly because of her age and with this she can cook without having to stand at the stove or really watch it too much.
This one is a manual which means it has knobs rather than a digital read out. It isn’t too bad although I will say the my uncle had a little bit of trouble seeing the numbers. He had to put his glasses on but they really aren’t that small. It is more his age and him wanting things to be huge. I read them just fine. The timer when it dings is more than loud enough as well regardless of what the uncle says. I mean he can barely hear me talking sitting right next to him.
It came with a rack that goes down in to the drawer. I call it a drawer but you may call it a basket. I haven’t used the rack yet but I am pretty sure that I will be using over the weekend since I have a small whole chicken that I want to give a go.
It also came with this divider so that you can cook two foods at once. Again it is not something I have used but will. We did the chicken tenders from today’s Tasty Tuesday in here and I must tell you that I think they turned out better than when we bake them in the oven.
I just lined them up in the drawer and popped them in. 18 minutes later I had wonderful chicken tenders. I did do a couple of batches to ensure they were all cooked thoroughly. The best part about this fryer is it doesn’t need any oil! It uses air to fry which means our food came out so much healthier.
As you can see they turned out beautifully! They tasted even better let me tell you. Add in some mashed potatoes and buttermilk gravy and we had the best meal. The XL Air Fryer from Simple Living Products has been one of the best products we received this year. It will certainly get plenty of use at our home.

Nice! I’ve had an air fryer on my wish list since I first heard of them–what a great way to make “fried” foods without all that oil, and the mess that goes along with it.
