When siting down to write this post about a funny bathroom story I knew that in order to share it with you I would have to share a little background, so here it goes. I am one of those people who was not born in a hospital. I was born at home because, even though my mom went to the hospital in labor, the intern told her that she had a kidney infection and sent her home. At 11:55pm she thought she had wet the bed only to realize her water had broke my dad got up to get dresses and she went to clean herself up. My mom sat on the commode to clean herself up and I came out. They say that a baby binds with the first thing they see and guess what my first sight was of?
Fast forward years later and the fact that the commode is my “other” mother is something that has always been shared in our home.So much so that when my daughter was four and I was in the bathroom sick at church once she felt the need to to explain way I was taking so long. When asked if I was alright her response was “Yes, she’s visiting Grandma” to which I am sure she got strange looks because she further explained “You know her other mother, the toilet.” How in the world do you live something like that down? the truth is you don’t, you change churches and do everything you can to explain that we don’t have to share everything with everyone.
I shared all of this with you because I want to introduce you to The Clorox Lounge, a community hub designed to be mom’s gotta go place for comedy, which started on January 26, 2012. The Clorox Lounge is brought to you by The Clorox Family of Toilet Products and their on-going Ode to the Commode campaign in which they recognize the vital role the commode plays in our lives. The Clorox Lounge is hosted by comedian, actress and mom Sherri Shepherd, and features hilarious anecdotes, fun contests, exciting give-a-ways, coupons along with just the right amount of comic relief.
The Clorox Lounge kicked-off with a Last Comic Sitting Competition and Sweepstakes. Over eight weeks, 10 of the funniest mom and dads will go head-to-head in a stand-up throw-down for the chance to sit on the throne and be crowned the Last Comic Sitting. I live in a small Georgia town that you most likely have never heard of and I LOVE it! My house is more than full as I am a single mother of four & caregiver to my aging mother and uncle. Lover of all things Outlander. Goes to the beat of her own drum woman.

Now you have a story!!!!
I was born at a Naval base…….. and the weekend my Mom was having me happened to be Easter. Because I guess she had been there so long Mom had made friends and was quite popular with the nurses. On the day I was born, they had ‘painted’ Mom’s belly to look like an Easter egg.
