That title got your attention didn’t it? I am not kidding, Almondina Cookies have no added fat or no cholesterol which means they are the cookies for me! As you all know I am on a diet so these are great little snacks that I eat occasionally. They really aren’t cookies, in fact their title is almond biscuits, but to me they are more like biscotti which I guess is a cookie.
Almondina® is the inspiring success story of a man whose great loves include both music and wonderful food. For generations his family loved his grandmother Dina’s most secret cookie, which she called Petit Gateau Sec. Yuval Zaliouk, an internationally known symphony conductor and gourmet chef, always had a special place in his heart (and stomach) for this exquisite, crispy wafer with the delicate flavor of roasted almonds and the natural sweetness of plump raisins.
I received a package with five different flavors: Original, Choconut, Sesame, Gingerspice and Cinnaroma. Each one is very good in although I didn’t really care for the Cinnaroma because it has raisins and I am not crazy about them. That, of course, is just a personal preference. My favorite was the Gingerspice because it reminded me of cookies that my Grandma used to give me when we had afternoon tea. All in all these treats were great and have found a permanent place in my cookie jar, if I can keep everyone else out of there!
You can find Almondina online here or at participating retail stores including Walmart, Trader Joe’s, and TJ Maxx for $3.49 per bag.

Yum! Healthier cookies sound great. I’d like to try the ginger spice, as I’m sure it would be perfect with a cup of tea.

Oh my gosh these are the best! We have tried all the flavors but our all time favorite is the Original. They have just enough sweetness to them that it hits the spot but is not super sweet. Even my kids love them! And trust me that is saying a lot. 🙂
