Friday Cocktails – September 3, 2021

Sep 03, 2021 | Rita

Friday Cocktails Featured 2021- and beyond - Rita Reviews

It’s the first Friday of the month and not only is it time for Friday Cocktails but it also time to talk about our monthly goals. This month I am not missing a single Friday with these posts for y’all. I know how much you enjoy them and I do as well.

This week has been a pretty full one with doctor’s appointments, my birthday on Monday, and a few other things. Add in that today is grocery day and I am a busy gal. So lets jump right into all of it.

SEPTEMBER GOALS

This is something a little new to the Friday Cocktails but I felt like I needed to share my goals with y’all. Like maybe by sharing them I will be held a little more. So for this month I would to achieve the following:

  1. Begin going through old posts as I have updated some categories and need to get them changed.
  2. Prep the holiday posts and themes for y’all
  3. Get ahead on some articles that can be prewritten
  4. Stay on track with my new healthcare plan –I struggled a few days this month

5 FINDS THIS WEEK

5 Finds This Week at Rita Reviews

This week we are all about the keto diet I am on. I am sharing with you some items that I have tried and enjoy. You can click any of the images to go to the items on Amazon. I love shopping on Amazon and you can find all of the items on my various lists here. I add to them all the time so be sure to check often.

I have found that I enjoy this granola more than I thought I would. Many of these Keto foods taste odd to me. I am learning to liking them more but it is a learning curve. This tastes good though and I can eat it for breakfast or as a small snack.

I am still struggling with not having any sweets. This are really low in carbs and sugar which means I can have a few. This helps curb my sweet craving without leaving full of regret. Some days I just need a little treat.

I am still working to understand fat bombs and what they are. To me they are a snack but I do know they serve a purpose. These are snacks for me as well. I know that snacking is bad but due to my insulin levels being all over the place I occasionally need a little snack.

I love bread and it is a problem for me which I know. These breads allow me to have a sandwich occasionally without feeling guilty. One thing i have learned is that guilt is a huge part of my dieting. I know it shouldn’t be but right now that is what happens.

I don’t always know what foods are allowed or not allowed. That is why I have this cheat sheet on my fridge. I also carry it with me to the grocery store. I can quickly look at what is allowed and what is not. I can’t tell you how helpful this has been.

    Pull Up a Chair: March 6, 2026March 6, 2026
Pull up a chair. March is here, and I wish I could tell you that I woke up on the first of the month feeling refreshed, reset, and ready to conquer the world. I didn’t. What I felt instead was something quieter — a kind of cautious steadiness. Not better exactly. Not worse. Just… here. And maybe that’s progress. February felt long. Heavy in ways that didn’t always make sense. Some days I could point directly at the source — the move, the house that…

False Accusations and Mistaken Identity: Protecting Your Rights in GeorgiaMarch 5, 2026
Key Takeaways Understanding False Accusations and Mistaken Identity False accusations occur when someone is wrongly charged with a crime they did not commit, while mistaken identity arises when a person is misidentified as the perpetrator. In Georgia, these situations can have serious repercussions, resulting in arrest, criminal prosecution, loss of employment, and severe emotional distress. For anyone facing this challenge, quickly consulting a criminal defense attorney for false accusations can significantly improve your chances of a successful outcome. The state’s justice system is designed to…

Comfort Foods for Unsettled WeatherMarch 4, 2026
March weather has a personality of its own. One day it feels like spring is standing at the door with sunshine in hand. The next day winter barges back in like it forgot something important and refuses to leave quietly. That kind of unsettled weather does something to me. It makes me crave food that feels steady. Not heavy like the deep comfort dishes of January. Not bright and fresh like full spring salads either. Just something in between. Something warm, grounding, and reassuring. When…

  • Welcoming March
    Welcoming MarchMarch 3, 2026
There is something about the turning of a calendar page that feels hopeful, even when nothing else has changed. March has arrived, and I find myself greeting it quietly. Not with big plans. Not with dramatic resolutions. Just with a soft acknowledgment that we are moving forward again. February felt long. Heavy in places. Honest in ways I did not expect. So when March showed up, I did not throw open the windows or start rearranging furniture in celebration. I simply noticed it. And sometimes,…
