Friday Cocktails – September 3, 2021

Sep. 03, 2021

Friday Cocktails Featured 2021- and beyond - Rita Reviews

It’s the first Friday of the month and not only is it time for Friday Cocktails but it also time to talk about our monthly goals. This month I am not missing a single Friday with these posts for y’all. I know how much you enjoy them and I do as well.

This week has been a pretty full one with doctor’s appointments, my birthday on Monday, and a few other things. Add in that today is grocery day and I am a busy gal. So lets jump right into all of it.

SEPTEMBER GOALS

This is something a little new to the Friday Cocktails but I felt like I needed to share my goals with y’all. Like maybe by sharing them I will be held a little more. So for this month I would to achieve the following:

  1. Begin going through old posts as I have updated some categories and need to get them changed.
  2. Prep the holiday posts and themes for y’all
  3. Get ahead on some articles that can be prewritten
  4. Stay on track with my new healthcare plan –I struggled a few days this month

5 FINDS THIS WEEK

5 Finds This Week at Rita Reviews

This week we are all about the keto diet I am on. I am sharing with you some items that I have tried and enjoy. You can click any of the images to go to the items on Amazon. I love shopping on Amazon and you can find all of the items on my various lists here. I add to them all the time so be sure to check often.

I have found that I enjoy this granola more than I thought I would. Many of these Keto foods taste odd to me. I am learning to liking them more but it is a learning curve. This tastes good though and I can eat it for breakfast or as a small snack.

I am still struggling with not having any sweets. This are really low in carbs and sugar which means I can have a few. This helps curb my sweet craving without leaving full of regret. Some days I just need a little treat.

I am still working to understand fat bombs and what they are. To me they are a snack but I do know they serve a purpose. These are snacks for me as well. I know that snacking is bad but due to my insulin levels being all over the place I occasionally need a little snack.

I love bread and it is a problem for me which I know. These breads allow me to have a sandwich occasionally without feeling guilty. One thing i have learned is that guilt is a huge part of my dieting. I know it shouldn’t be but right now that is what happens.

I don’t always know what foods are allowed or not allowed. That is why I have this cheat sheet on my fridge. I also carry it with me to the grocery store. I can quickly look at what is allowed and what is not. I can’t tell you how helpful this has been.

Letting Summer Be SimpleJune 22, 2026
Somewhere along the way, summer started feeling like something we had to “do right.” Every year we are surrounded by lists of bucket ideas, expensive vacations, packed calendars, and endless pressure to make every single moment magical. By the time June arrives, it can start to feel less like a season to enjoy and more like another thing we are expected to manage perfectly. But honestly, the older I get, the less interested I am in exhausting summers. I do not want a season so…

    Pull Up a Chair: June 19, 2026June 19, 2026
Well friends, we are somehow already staring down the second half of June, and I honestly would like to know who keeps speeding the calendar up when nobody is paying attention. Summer always begins with everybody talking about all the things they plan to do, and then suddenly it is late June and half of us are just trying to survive the heat with our sanity mostly intact. At this point, walking outside feels less like stepping into nature and more like entering a very…

The Little Snack That Saves Busy AfternoonsJune 17, 2026
There are some days when full meals feel impossible, but somehow everybody is still hungry every thirty minutes. Those are the days when snacks become survival tools instead of just something extra. Around here, having quick grab-and-go options makes a huge difference, especially during busy weeks when nobody wants to spend half the day cooking. These no-bake energy bites have become one of my favorite things to keep in the refrigerator lately. They are simple, filling, slightly sweet, and easy to grab when you need…
