Welcome to 2022! There is so much going on here and in my life that I wanted to share a few things with y’all. First, you most likely have noticed that things around the blog changed a few months ago. I didn’t say anything and honestly, I hadn’t planned on changing them up as quickly as I did. However, I could to be happier with how things have turned out.
I made a lot of changes and have been doing some other behind the scenes work here as well. There are some things that y’all will never see but they are in the process of being done. A lot of it are little things that I have put off for a while and finally told myself to stop doing that.

The Lemon
So, what is up with the lemon? For me, the lemon is a reminder of the fact that life may throw lemons my way but I can make the best lemonade out of them. It is just one of those things that stuck in my mind as I began the year of me. That is what 2022 is going to be for me. One thing we all tend to do is change how we are for whatever reason. One of my biggest changes is here on the blog where I have spent years being so careful about what I post and what I say.
Even if that means not speaking up when I really wanted to. The reason has always been that I am (1) not a confrontational person and (2) I don’t want to offend anyone. I don’t want my blog to become a hot bed for trolls who say hurtful and mean things. That is something that still is true. However, I realized that it is okay to have my own opinions and share my thoughts about hot topics. My readers have been with me long enough to know the place that I am coming from. Plus I really wanted to include the color yellow in some way.
Other Plans
I have lots of other plans for the year. I thought I would share them with you and then maybe check back in with them at the end of the year and see how I did.
- Run the Year Challenge: a challenge I am completing this year and you can follow me as I do
- More Meditation and Prayer Time: I feel like I don’t spend enough time with either of these. After December I feel like I need a little more of this.
- Letting Go More: I need to let things go more than I do. I worry them to death and then hold on so tight that I smother them at times.
- Get Under 200 lbs: I really want to accomplish this by summer but I am being realistic and saying my the end of 2022
- Give Up Sugar: This is going to be so hard and if I manage this it will be a miracle. It’s the truth. Sugar is such a huge part of my daily life and I know that it is a problem.
- Earn 25% More This Year: Last year was up and down and I want to get a little more stable with my earnings.
- Be Happy: I just want to be overall happy. I know that everyday isn’t going to be perfect
- Don’t Die: Before you all start sending me horrible emails, like how could I, let me remind everyone that I have congestive heart failure. I have had some set backs and learning to manage and live with this has been difficult at times. In fact, there was a moment when I wasn’t sure I was going to make it recently. Luckily they were able to get the fluid off and me back home. So this year I want to not only live but manage it a bit better.
