Disclosure: This is part of a financially compensated partnership with Seed. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.
I know what you are thinking. Of course you have heard the word seed but you may not have heard of Seed the ecosystem of scientists, doctors, innovators, entrepreneurs, storytellers, technologists, environmentalists, moms, dads, thinkers, activists, writers, professors, and many other people from all around the world.
I am a part of Seed and no, it’s not a weird cult! Seed began when Ara Katz and Raja Dhir met and discussed the possibilities of the microbiome as well as how bacteria will impact the health of us and the planet. I know that all sounds like science geek mumbo jumbo. I thought the same thing at first.
One of the first things I learned is that not understanding can lead to tremendous amounts of misinformation spreading faster than the truth. Sadly, it is easier to believe and call the misinformation truth. No, there is no double meaning about all of that so please don’t take it that way. I’m talking about cold hard scientific truths that we tend to shove to the side because we don’t understand them or we don’t like the truth of them.
As someone who is pursing a healthier lifestyle I make a point of gathering the information I need before I make a decision. I research any and everything then I speak with my healthcare professionals. With that in mind let me first explain a microbiome since it was the first question I had. A microbiome is the genetic material of all microbes that live in an ecosystem. So essentially everything that makes up an ecosystem. The human microbiome is made mostly of bacteria. Yep, you read that correctly.
I’m Gonna Blow Your Mind
How many times have you been in the grocery store and saw something that had “good” bacteria or said probiotic on it? How many of you have bought that because you know that probiotics are good for your gut health. Well, most of those aren’t actually probiotics based on the scientific definition. The scientific definition of a probiotic is live microorganisms which when administered in adequate amounts confer a health benefit on the host. I felt that say way when I learned that.
Daily Synbiotic
I did not know what a synbiotic was prior to being introduced to Seed. I can now with confidence say it is food ingredients or dietary supplements that combines probiotics and prebiotics in a form of synergism. The DS-01 Daily Synbiotic that I received is a 24 strain broad spectrum probiotic and prebiotic.
It has been formulated for digestive, gut , immune, and other systems health. If you have been with me a while you already know how out of balance my poor digestive and gut health is. I began taking these right away and I will say that it didn’t leave much of an aftertaste in my mouth. If you have ever taken any sort of capsules you know there is a weird aftertaste that happens. I had prepped myself for that and it didn’t happen.
Seed uses 2 in 1 ViaCap Delivery Technology which is basically a capsule inside a capsule to protect it against all the acids and enzymes in your stomach. That means you are getting the live probiotics all the way to the end of the small intestine so they can be sent to the colon. Now they say you will begin to feel results in 24-48 hours. For me, it was more like a week. I don’t know if it is because I am on other medications or if I just simply didn’t notice until then. I would say a week is a good rule of thumb though.
If that wasn’t good enough they also have a refill system that is engineered to shield against light, moisture, and heat. I love that since I live in the south. The small travel bottle fits nicely in my bag and refills arrive monthly in a compostable biofilm. The entire packaging system is designed to be gentler on the earth as well.
Seed gave me the scientific information I needed to make an informed decision. At the end of that decision I knew that taking the daily synbiotic from Seed was the best choice for me and my health.

What you said. “The human microbiome is made mostly of bacteria.” Wow! I’m new to Seed but it sounds fascinating.
Thanks for cluing us in!
