Letters with Rita: An Introduction

Jan 15, 2026 | Rita

Letters with Rita: An Introduction

Letters have a way of meeting us where we are. They don’t interrupt. They don’t demand an immediate response or flash across a screen while we’re in the middle of something else. They wait patiently—until we’re ready to speak, and just as patiently, until we’re ready to listen.

That simple truth is the heart of Letters with Rita.

This space was created slowly, thoughtfully, and with intention. It wasn’t born out of a marketing plan or a need to “keep up.” It came from a quiet longing for something gentler. Something more human. Something rooted in presence rather than pace.

Letters with Rita is a place for words that unfold without urgency. A place where connection is allowed to breathe. A place where reflection is valued and silence is respected. Whether you’re writing to process your thoughts, to encourage someone else, or simply to share a piece of your everyday life, you’re invited to take your time here.

There is no rush. Only words, presence, and the quiet comfort of knowing someone will receive them.

Why Letters Still Matter

In a world filled with instant messages, notifications, and constant noise, letters feel almost radical. They ask us to slow down. To choose words carefully. To sit with our thoughts before releasing them. Letters aren’t about quick reactions—they’re about intention.

A letter doesn’t interrupt your day. It waits. It arrives gently, asking nothing from you until you’re ready. And when you do open it, it feels personal in a way few things still do.

That’s why letters matter now more than ever.

We live in a time when we’re more connected than ever—and yet, many of us feel deeply disconnected. We know what people are doing, but not how they’re feeling. We exchange information, but rarely reflection. Letters offer something different. They create space for honesty, vulnerability, and care.

Letters with Rita exists to protect that space.

What This Space Is (and What It Isn’t)

Letters with Rita is not about performance. It’s not about perfectly curated lives or polished storytelling. It’s not about having all the answers or presenting yourself in a certain way.

This space is about authenticity.

It’s about showing up as you are—whether that means joyful, tired, hopeful, uncertain, or somewhere in between. It’s about allowing words to flow naturally, without pressure or expectation.

Here, letters are welcome in all their forms. Some may be reflective. Some may be encouraging. Some may simply be observations from an ordinary day. All of them are valuable.

This isn’t a place where you have to explain yourself. It’s a place where you’re allowed to be.

The Comfort of Being Received

One of the quiet comforts of letter writing is knowing your words will land somewhere safe. That they will be read with care. That they won’t be skimmed or dismissed or hurried past.

Letters with Rita is built around that kind of receiving.

This is a space where words are held gently. Where stories are honored. Where presence matters more than productivity. Whether you’re sharing something deeply personal or simply putting thoughts into words for the first time in a while, you’re welcome here.

There’s a kind of relief that comes from knowing you don’t have to rush to be understood. Letters allow us to speak without fear of interruption. They give us room to say what we mean—and sometimes, to discover what we mean along the way.

Slower Words for Slower Living

At its core, Letters with Rita is an invitation into slower living.

Slower mornings. Slower thoughts. Slower conversations.

This space isn’t concerned with trends or timelines. It’s concerned with depth. With reflection. With the kind of writing that feels like sitting at a kitchen table long after the dishes are done, talking about life while the house grows quiet around you.

Letters encourage us to pause. To notice. To listen—to ourselves and to one another. They remind us that not everything needs to be shared immediately, and not everything needs a response right away.

Sometimes, words simply need a place to rest.

Writing as Presence

Writing letters is a form of presence. When you write a letter, you’re choosing to be fully there—to give your attention, your honesty, and your time. That kind of presence is rare, and it’s precious.

Letters with Rita exists to honor that.

Whether you’re writing for yourself or for someone else, the act of putting words on a page can be grounding. It can help you process what you’re carrying. It can remind you of who you are beneath the noise. It can offer clarity when life feels uncertain.

And sometimes, it’s not about finding clarity at all—it’s just about being seen.

An Invitation Without Expectation

There’s no obligation here. No pressure to participate in a certain way. You’re welcome to read quietly, to reflect privately, or to share when it feels right.

Letters with Rita is not about frequency or consistency. It’s about sincerity.

This is a place where you’re invited to show up when you can, as you are. Where silence is respected. Where words are allowed to come when they’re ready.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the pace of online spaces…
If you miss thoughtful connection…
If you long for something softer and more intentional…

Then you’re exactly where you belong.

Why I Created This Space

Letters with Rita was created from a place of longing—for depth, for slowness, for connection that feels real. It’s an extension of everything I value: storytelling, presence, reflection, and care.

I believe words matter. I believe they carry weight. And I believe there’s still beauty in writing something meant to be read slowly.

This blog is not about having something to say every day. It’s about creating room for meaningful words when they arrive.

Welcome In

So welcome to Letters with Rita. Head over and check things out. You will find all the information you need to begin writing to me and about letter writing in general. I will certainly be sharing more over there.

I love this idea and grew up writing letters. As an adult, I don’t, but every once in a while I do.

There is something special and unique about hand written letters or cards. To me, they are such a treasure because it is rare to receive these days.
