Month in Review – July 2023

July 2023 Month in Review

Another month down and it’s time to look back a little bit. July has been rather refreshing for me in a lot of ways. I came into the month late because I was finishing up my vacation. While I thought I would end up even further behind I have found that not to be the case. I am slightly further ahead than I thought and I mentally am in a much better place.

Work wise there are still a few things I am behind in but I am catching them up and getting better about many of them as well. I did take a trip this week (well over the past weekend and into a few days this week) that wasn’t really for any reason. It was just because and take a guess which state I was in?

I will share pictures from where I was in the Friday Cocktails post. One thing that I learned over the last month from my brother was to just relax and go with it. It is something our father always did but I am so OCD and high strung that I tend to worry and over analyze everything.

Not my brother. In fact, he told his wife if she didn’t want to pack for their vacation not to. He would buy her clothes when they got there. When he goes into vacation mode he is there 100%. He works hard, saves all year and is there to do nothing but have a good time. It is something that we all need to take to heart.

I am ending July on such a good and positive note that I am more than a little afraid. I have been on the waiting for the other shoe to drop bandwagon for a while. Anytime things seem to be going good everything goes wrong. Maybe this is the end of that streak and the start of something better.

Amazon Purchase of the Month

Like most of you, Amazon is such a part of our lives that I don’t think I can think of a day when we don’t order something. I thought I would share with you two of my favorite purchases from this past month.

Fire Hydrant with Dog Cookie Jar

Ma collects cookie jars (along with salt and pepper shakers) and she came across this particular Fire Hydrant with Dog one on the Walmart app. I checked out Amazon and found we could get it quicker that way so I ordered it. Ma adores it and I must say it looks pretty cute in the dining room. I give a week tops and she will be ready to change it out for something new. The best and worst thing I ever did was hook up with Instagram and show her how to use her tablet.

The other fabulous purchase this month was this Crossbody Bag that I saw on Instagram and just had to have for myself. I am finding that I love the ease of the crossbody bag. It keeps my hands free but some are either too small or too large. When I saw this one I wondered if you would work.

My month was great. It is my birthday and some very thoughtful people remembered me on different days so it was like a birthday two weeks. I have the wedding of one of my great-nieces to attend tomorrow. It will end a great month for me.

My month was okay. I spent a lot of time indoors since it’s too hot outside.

I tend to fret and overthink too (did that a lot this month), but I’d say you’re overdue for fun and good things and are entitled to enjoy them!

It has been very hot here so haven’t gotten out a lot. Did a lot of reading and cleaning/organizing closets. Had a Birthday party for my nephew.

My month was nice kind of busy but I got a lot done. I do have to add that it was way too hot for me this month. I am looking forward to the fall season.

My month was crazy. We got 9 inches of rain in one day (as well as many other rainy days) which caused a big flood right through downtown. There was so much damage all over the state. There is still work to be done for the clean up. Some people are still in shelters. We got some water in our basement but we were extremely lucky. If we had lost power, we would’ve had so much damage. It has been an emotional month. Repairs are being made and roads that were closed are starting to open.

It has been a quiet, uneventful month for me. The weather has been too hot and humid and with the recurring bouts of air quality alerts due to wildfire smoke, my asthma has been acting up. So, I have been taking it easy, watching a lot of Netflix and P0rime

Rather boring mostly until we took the kids to Gatlinburg and the aquarium & hotel so they could swim. It was pretty fun and the kids had a blast! They love swimming! I hope you had a great month!

I found a remote job on the first of July and I’ve been working steadily every day on it. I really hope the work doesn’t dry up because it is a good way to help my family with expenses. I’m entering on the rafflecopter as mami2jcn.
