Friday Cocktails – July 28, 2023

Jul. 28, 2023

July 28 Friday Cocktails

Friday has rolled around again, which means it is time for Friday Cocktails! This week has been a bit of a busy week for me in a lot of ways. I have sat down and actually done more planning and work for the blogs. Although nowhere near as much as I wanted to. However, I am going to take that as a win. My week was full and I feel like I lived it to the fullest. That is a feeling I haven’t had in a long time.

5 Things I Did This Week

I remembered I wanted to do this but let be honest I don’t alway remember so if may not always happen.

  1. Actually followed the plan that I had laid out in my planner and got crap done. That included getting all of my suitcases and bags completely unpacked.
  2. Took a three day trip that was pretty awesome if I do say so myself. Pictures and more info below.
  3. Walked with just my cane for the entire week. I can’t begin to tell you how much that meant to me. I was even able to walk a full mile with it. There was not a lot of sitting down so my therapy is working.
  4. I Started watching Silent Witness on Britbox. There are like thirty seasons or so and I am just getting started with them. I don’t think I will be sitting down and just binge watching them any time soon but I did enjoy what I have seen so far.
  5. Rented Supercell movie with Ma and my uncle. Ma said she wanted to watch it and I thought why not. It was much better than I thought it was going to be. Ma has also said she wants to see the Barbie movie but I don’t know if I am ready for a trip to the movie theater. I do see the irony in that statement seeing as I just went to far busier places. I have problems with the theater though. I struggle with them.

It doesn’t seem like much but for me it was. Doing those things this week made me feel like an adult (y’all know the seniors at Shady Pines sometimes make me feel like I’m twelve again) who was productive.

A Little Trip

The trip was a few days in Forth Worth and other places in Texas just to say we went. I  know that sounds crazy but it is the truth. Here are just a few pictures from that trip:

  • Drover Hotel
  • Fort-Worth-Stock-Yards
  • Fort-Worth-Lunch
  • Cow Walk 1
  • Cow Walk 2
  • Bullet

While next week won’t be as eventful I do hope to do another picture spread for you of just some of the things I did or saw over the week. I will also be sharing more of the pictures from this trip over the next few Fridays.

I had my birthday last Saturday. Then a friend surprised me with a party yesterday. She did it late because I would not expect it and I did not. It was just great except for the heat.

I had a good week. We had a few sunny days so we were able to get stuff completely dried out and taken care of after the flood. Repairs are being done and businesses are starting to reopen. Road repairs and trash removal are still needed to be done. But we are getting back to normal.

Happy Friday! It has been very hot and humid here and I don’t have AC in my room so I have been doing as little as possible this week, eating sandwiches and binge-watching The Blacklist. Can’t wait until October!
