New Life for the Sofa

 

If you will all remember I told you in Mohawk Rugs review that most of the items we have were given to use when we first married. None of it really is my style but it works and that is okay. Well after seeing my pictures for that review I realized I really need to do something about making my house more my home.

So I got a slipcover for the sofa. It is just a small start but I will be working very hard over the course of the next year to make my home my own. As you can see in the before picture the sofa leaves a lot to be desired. I know this is something that I should have done when I first married but I have always been more of a practical kind of gal. Everything worked so I was okay with it. That hot mess in the background is my “office” which I will be working on as well. Our living area is actually one really huge room with the kitchen, living room, and dining room all together. The house is actually a cabin that was built in the 60’s and used for weekend getaways.

Now here is my new beautiful sofa! I am going to do the chairs as well and then start on my office area that really needs a bookshelf and a new desk. After that it is on to the dining room and beyond. I will be sharing all the pictures and headaches with all of you. I am going to paint the bathrooms in a couple of week.
