Sunshine and Headphones

Apr. 14, 2026

Sunshine and Headphones

I was sitting here today working with my headphones on and just lost in my world when Uncle R came walking through and almost fell over laughing. He asked if my concert was going well. While I got a little embarrassed I realized that for the last five hours I have been sitting working and my music playing whatever random stuff is on my phone just sitting my little heart out.

I don’t know about y’all but my music is everything from Mozart to Linkin Park and everything in between. There is jazz, classical, oldies (50’s and 60’s), country, pop, rock, rap, you name it I probably have it in my phone.I know that is electric but I can’t ever just pick one genre when it comes to music. I love whatever moves me. Today is the first day I have gotten my to-do list completely done in more years than I care to admit.

I started using the InCharge App (not a sponsorship or anything just a shout out because it is helping) and it made the last couple of days so easy. I just plugged in my routine and all the tasks I needed to get done. It helped me see that I was putting just too much on my list everyday. Although I will say I have about 20 tasks to do today and I got them done plus a couple of others.

I don’t know if it has helped but the music today just spoke to my soul and got me moving. Both physically and mentally. I have been working away. I took a lunch break and then another little break just to get up and walk around. I wish there was a way to express how happy I am today. I grew up on music, it was always playing in my home in some form. Way more than the television. We are coming up on the 26th anniversary of my dad’s passing and April is always hard because of that. Today though it felt like being a teen again working on my homework at the table.

I had to move my computer to the folding table in the bedroom today because the little desk under the window was giving me sunburn (curtains are on the to buy list). Ma got a new rug that she put down so I kicked off my shoes and just melted into the fluffiness of it. It has been a perfect day or as close to perfect as it can be. Tomorrow may be horrible but I am going to take the win for the day. It was sunshine and headphones all day but it was what my soul needed.
