Blogtober Day 4

Oct. 11, 2013

Day 4 of Blogtober is actually a really good one and I have a great story!

A story about a time you were very afraid.

There were so many different times when I have been afraid, for example, I am actually afraid of the dark. However this story is the one that has always stuck with me and I think it is because I just don’t have any answers.

After my father passed away I was living back at home with my mother and had been sleeping downstairs with her because she was having a really hard time. One night when she was sleeping really well I went upstairs to the office to check emails and take care of some paperwork.

Now the office was on the third floor in a sort of refinished attic. I got finished with everything in the office and came down the stairs to the second floor where there  two bedrooms, a bathroom, and an unfinished room. I figured I would sleep in my room there on that floor and as I started there I heard some noise downstairs on the first floor.

I started to go down the stairs thinking it was my mother but something stopped me in my tracks. Instead I went and woke my brother telling him there was someone in the house. His response was the alarm didn’t go off so go to bed. Made sense after all but I couldn’t go to bed. I started down the stairs again and stopped on the lading. The stairs went down a few then a landing and a turn then down the rest of the way. There was a wall where I could actually look around into the kitchen from the landing if I wanted to.

I didn’t want to! It sounded like someone was in the kitchen cooking and carrying on! As much as I wanted to know what was going on down there I could not for the life of me look around that wall. I also couldn’t move off the stairs. My brother found me the next morning on the landing asleep. Whomever was down there cooking was super clean though because nothing was out-of-place!

did you think that maybe it was some kind of sign from your father? That is what I probably would have thought if it would have been me.

I wasn’t sure what to think. I just knew something was trying to get me.

Talk about creepy, lol. I don’t know if I could have stayed on the landing. I probably would have climbed back in bed and hid under the covers. 😛

Wow, what a mystery. That would stick with me forever too and I’d probably always wonder about what I’d heard. I can’t even begin to imagine what a creepy feeling must have come over you at that point. I’m not sure I’d of fallen asleep at all!
