Fantasy Friday: Kathmandu

Sep. 12, 2014

FantasyFriday
Every Friday at Crossroads Media Hub we share with you a place we would like to visit. Our bloggers share a place on their blogs and we all link up to Fantasy Friday! You can check out all of the bloggers there. Every week we all journey somewhere else and maybe just to escape for a few moments. This week I think I would like to travel to Kathmandu. Now I know I have listed Nepal before but this is a little more specific.

Boudhanath-Stupa-in-Kathmandu

There are two places I would like to see in Kathmandu the first being Boudhanath Stupa. With a fusion of Buddhist and Tibetan culture, it is one of the holiest sites in Kathmandu.Early in the morning you can see the Tibetan monks in burgundy robes, elders, children and locals alike participating in morning prayers. The other place is Thamel which is full of chaos but what I feel makes Kathmandu the best. There is plenty of shopping and to be honest I would just love to get lost within this place for a day.

Where would you like to go this week?

Great choice, I have a Pinterest board of all of the places I would like to travel to and Nepal is on there a lot. Such rich culture and of course I’d love the shopping. The Boudhanath Stupa is gorgeous, I’ve never heard of it, thank you for the wonderful picture.
